96 Dx or Ex94hatchsi 03-25-2002, 01:07 AM well performance wise how much faster is an ex....im planing on gettin a stereo car cuase im sorta outta the race type car now and iwant just something to drive in with my friends... so if i got a dx is the performance that much worse and does anyone knw what the alternators on each car pu t out thanks nic asnrefugee 03-25-2002, 01:48 AM dx=no power anything ex=power windows power locks power moonroof dome 03-25-2002, 09:08 AM DX= lightest 6th gen civic EX=Vtec. I have a 99 DX, and if I had it to do over again, I would have held out for the SI. Being overanxious is never a good thing. But as for the DX vs EX I'd go EX. Only a little more expensive, but relatively loaded, just a little heavier and with a Vtec (albeit a D-series) you just have so many more possibilities. Just my .02 emerge 03-25-2002, 01:14 PM ya, DX's arent only just weaker than EX, they are pathetically weak in general.... i hav an EX and trust me, power features are AWESOME rockerdude 03-25-2002, 04:36 PM nope, your wrong, the 96-97 civic CX is the lightest 6th gen civic because of the fact that it comes in a HB form. I have a 97 HB DX, it's like 50lbs heavier than a CX. But to tell you the truth, most EX can't beat a DX on the road because it's 100lbs+ heavier. all i have on my dx is a exhaust and a intake. i beat every EX with the same mods or more done to their car. but on the highway, when VTEC kicks in, I lose after we hit 80mph+. since you ain't into racing, best you get a SI, the EX and DX lacks torque and power. dome 03-25-2002, 04:56 PM You are right about the CX being the lightest of all 6th gen, but since 94hatchsi was doing a comp between dx and ex, I assumed he was talking about coupe style. Anyway, save your chips for an ex, or save a little longer for a used SI, the new ones are fugly. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
