OBD 1.5? is it 1 or 2?

i work with a mechanic thats says that he has never heard of OBD 1.5 and that their is no such thing. he sid that if its a mix then its OBD2. he siad that if i could come up with some paper work proving that their is then he will beleave me but other wise not. can anybody show me some paper work proving it or a paper from GM would be best. any help is helpful.

ODBI.5 was the transitional odbi spec chevy came out with in 95... The ODBI.5 still has the ECM under the dash... If you have ODBII your ecm will be under the hood (actually it's the 1st revision of the ODBII spec... It will also say the revision on the core support)..

It is called VCM-A, it is basically a very basic OBDII.

Actually yea, it is OBDI if the computer is under the glove box.

VCM-A were in 1995's and was a stripped down OBDII.

VCM started in 1996+ and was fully OBDII compliant.
