WIP Hot RodJeriC 03-08-2005, 06:32 AM Okay, here is a WIP for another t-shirt design I am working on. Unfortunately, I will not have anything more on it for a while until the client gets back to me with an approval. It is for an event in June. http://www.motorsportsillustrated.com/images/stage1.jpg http://www.motorsportsillustrated.com/images/stage2.jpg http://www.motorsportsillustrated.com/images/stage3.jpg JeriC 03-08-2005, 06:43 AM Kewl... I got me some stars under my name!!! does this mean I am close to loosing the 'Newbie' status? lemorris 03-08-2005, 09:09 AM I like this car a lot Jeri. You have a great understanding of whats going on. I really dig the headlights. Thanks for sharin, -Lemorris asaenz 03-08-2005, 09:53 AM Hi Jeri, Dang that is tight. I luv the design of the hotpeppers for flames. Ok at this stage you are still on AI, correct? The reflections headlights and grill, done in AI too? What I notice about you and Lemorris is you both have a nack for removing details and simplifing reflections instead of trying to just copy the ref. I'm taking notes, it all about observing and studying the masters...hee hee Thank you for sharing and being so open about your techniques. al Ran 03-08-2005, 09:59 AM Kewl... I got me some stars under my name!!! does this mean I am close to loosing the 'Newbie' status? close, but not there yet, I think you have the pass the 50 post point (maybe even 25 if you're lucky). About the shirt, it looks great, I really hope you will finish it - it has alot of potential when its in your hands! JeriC 03-08-2005, 10:12 AM Ok at this stage you are still on AI, correct? What I notice about you and Lemorris is you both have a nack for removing details and simplifing reflections instead of trying to just copy the ref. All of this is in Illustrator. Most of the lines will stay on the final design. The only ones I will be removing are the moldings. They will be represented by darker colors to contrast the yellow (like orange and grey). Most of the time, I don't like to see "black" lines unless there is a "black" line on the car... like a door or hood seam I am going towards a heavier outline around the cars than I used to do. I like that look on other artist work so I think I will 'borrow' it for a while. Jeep_Rubicon 03-08-2005, 03:56 PM Looks great so far. How many hours do you have to work for an artwork like that? It's incredible. Ran 03-20-2005, 06:26 AM That's very nice work! JeriC 03-20-2005, 01:08 PM This one took longer than most. I put in a little over 30 hours. Here is the final (I hope) it is out on approval... http://www.motorsportsillustrated.com/images/finalne.jpg stuffbyalex 03-20-2005, 01:14 PM Wow!! Amazing stuff Jeri. 30 hours for the entire thing or just the hotrod? Keep up the great work Alex lemorris 03-20-2005, 05:14 PM awesome Jeri!! did you do the characters too? JeriC 03-20-2005, 05:33 PM awesome Jeri!! did you do the characters too? The body of the girl is taken from an old mel's diner design. The client wanted it in the design because they are running an "American Graffiti" theme with a couple of the stars from the movie as guests at the show. I was afraid of copyright issues so I changed it to be 'similar'. I drew the head of the actress, 'candy' something that will be at the show and used it on the old body. I figured it was changed enough to be safe and still have the same 'look' "Speedy" is an actual logo of a diner around those part and a sponsor of the event. I drew the building to go with it. I also drew the Juke box way back when and just this year have I had an occassion to use it. With all of the hours involved, I am ging to be lucky to be getting $10 per hour by time it is finished! But it was a fun design! GvEman 03-21-2005, 03:13 AM Thats awesome! You are amazing! hackeruzu 03-26-2005, 03:49 PM WOW NICEEEEEEEEEE WORK !!! this is sick mann your a talent asaenz 03-27-2005, 10:23 PM My goodness that is sweet!!!! Jeri, I give up. :) I luv the peppers and that engine, and that whole design. Awesome job, girl. How many ponies does that hot rod have, big block + nos + super charger (roots), da-ang, yo. al PS: Those peppers look air brushed not computer rendered, wow. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
