f150 cruise,horn and air bag

I need some help.I bought a 94 F150 eddie bauer addtion only paid $4,000 does have 135,000 on it but motor sounds good.I have 3 problems 1.I can't get the cruise controle to work I have replaced the fuse under the dash,no luck 2.my horn is also out,and my air bag light keeps flashing.I have tried pulling the positive off the battery for a half hour but did no good,thought it would re-set.It sounds like it is tied togheather,but were does on start?

Does the airbag light flash a code then stay on? I have the same problem with my 99 windstar (code 32)...Inside the steering wheel, there is supposed to be a pack of wires for the horn/cruise...If this isn't working it will also give a fault for the air bag...I believe it's called a "clockspring"...Could be the same problem your having...Check with 12ounce...He's the one that told me about it...

I'm not an expert by any means, but I will share with you what I THINK!

A flashing code means something is not right... and may mean that proper deployment may not take place in the event of an accident. I don't think it means self-deployment is at hand.

Code 32 has to do with the air bag under the horn pad in the steering wheel. This air bag communicates, as well does the horn and the cruise control switches, through a "air bag sliding contact" (sometimes referred to as a "clock spring"....in truth, it is not a spring or a sliding contact...merely a coil of multiconductor cable in a plastic package) just under the steering wheel. Part #____ 14A664____ .

Does the horn and cruise control both work? If so, the problem is something else other than this sliding contact. Perhaps just a loose connector.

Has this light flashed ever since you owned the car? I've heard of bad folks snitching air bags ... they are somewhat expensive and have a good resale on the used parts market. (You may not have an air bag under the horn pad!)

If I had to bet however, I would guess the problem is the "sliding contact". The original ones were very "Mickey Mouse" and Ford has made some improvements in the replacement units that they will sell you.
