Improvisational back cargo matt

If you're looking to save some cash, but want to purchase some sort of matt to protect your cargo area carpet, here's an idea.

I have a band, and am continually going to be loading and unloading amps, speakers, guitars, etc. I wanted to put some sort of matt down in back to protect the carpet, and started to look around at what was available.
Decent rubber or plastic matts that are MADE FOR BLAZERS (or any specific vehicle) run from around $50 and up.
The fact that Im going to be dragging shit in and out along it all the time meant I wouldnt be able to use a rubber matt anyways...as shit would get stuck on it. So I had a good idea.
The floor matts that you can purchase from STAPLES and OFFICEMAX etc. that are smoothe plastic for underneath office desks and chairs, you can get in different sizes for cheap. They come with or without the small spikes underneath for traction. Thats what I got.
I just bought one for mine for $17, and its great!

I actually put normal carpet in the back of mine. I carry a lot of tools and also used to carry a scooter and I hated it when salt got into the carpet.

I would of went that way as well, except I needed something smooth that wouldnt tear up my musical equipment when I slid it in and out all the time. Now I gotta find a way to secure my toolbox though cuz it slides~!

Hahaha, carpet doesn't tear up my musical equipment, though it's harder to slide stuff in and out at least mine doesn't slide around.

I had a huge cab with 2x12's back there for a while too and I didn't want that thing sliding around. I took it out because it would make a subharmonic throbbing sound at certain speeds.

no room for sliding when all my equipment is in there....just the toolbox by itself does
