my son's car quit while he was driving it. we suspect it is a fuel pump problem. the car is a 4 cyl. the fuel pump is not working and there is no voltage getting back to the fuel pump. there is no fuse in the fuel box. we have checked the haynes manual and the clinton manual. we cannot find the fuse it says to check. Can anyone please tell me where I can look?
Thanks, Burgess

ok your problem is a burnt up relay... mounted on the inside of the fender near the batt are 5 or 6 little black boxes.... these are relays my suggestion is to take the black cover off and hold the relay closed and go through them with it... with the key in the on position but not running you will hear the fan kick on and one will make the A/C click and one should kick on the fuel pump...you should hear it making a buzzing noise

The fuel relay is the fartherest from the Strut mount, also, the fuse for the fuel pump is under the driver side dash. Way up in behind the fuse pannel. It'll most likey be a big yellow 20Amp fuse in the holder. The fuel pump wires run under the carpet to the back under the seat. With the ignition in the on position, you could check these wire with a meter to determine if their is power.

I believe the wires going to the fuel pump are green w/orange (HOT) and black (ground).
