have a95 blazer that dies everytime you stop, we have changed out the spark plugs and wires, coil and coil wire, new catalitic converter, there is no leakage around injectors, no codes come up...could the injectors be dirty

try cleaning out the EGR valve.i too have a 95 and i had the same problem with mine. i cleaned it and it worked great.

Yes, clean the IAC.

And NEVER touch the gas on a fuel injected vehicle. You will just flood the engine.

we cleaned the IAC and the EGR also and it didn't do any good, the truck still dies everytime you slow down to stop...

There was no carbon in the EGR valve?

No there was not and still dies every time you stop.

Go have your fuel pressure checked.

Did it stall before you changed out the spark plugs and wires, coil and coil wire, new catalitic converter?

Is the check engine light on?

When was the last time you changed the fuel filter?

And.....as BlazerLT said check your fuel pressure. Don't come back with a "it's good" answer....tell us the pressure:

1) Key on engine off while pump is running
2) Key on engine off after pump stops, make sure it holds constant pressure for a few minutes.
3)Engine on at idle.

Go have your fuel pressure checked.
Fuel pressure is great, have had it looked at by several mechanics and no one seems to know why it is doing this, and they have never had this problem before. And one of the mechanics had a 96 blazer come in with the same problem while he was looking at mine...the fuel presuure stays between 52-55...it was stalling every now and then the guy said when we bought it, he said he thought it was spark plugs...so we had it all changed and it is still doing the same thing....there are no codes and the service engine light does not come on

It is very important that we know all the pressure readings. Each one tells something different and indicates different problems.

It should be:

KEY ON ENGINE OFF;

60 - 66psi while pump is running
55 - 60psi after pump shuts off, this pressure should hold steady and not drop.

KEY ON ENGINE RUNNING;

The pressure should drop 3 - 10psi

Suggest checking Torque converter lockup.
See www.autorepair.about.com/cs/troubleshooting/a/aa061701a_p.htm

or search for transmission threads here

He has a 1995, so the pressure will be 58-64psi with the key to the first position before start.

52-55 is too low. CPI injector is leaking, the fuel pump is wearing out, the battery is low, or the fuel filter is clogged.

This has nothing to do with the problem.

Damn, you're right...there have been so many 96+ fuel problems lately I missed that he's got a 95.

52-55psi may be okay....the way he said "the fuel presuure stays between 52-55" sounds to me like he might be talking about while it is running.

Maybe.
Believe me may have found the problem....injectors...one side had carbon all over the other side clean....will let you know if it works, changing injectors today....

If it is a 1995, it is ONE injector with six poppet valves.

Make sure to replace the internal fuel lines (nut kit) while you are at it and use a fresh plenum gasket.

yes that is what it is poppit valves...thanks for all the help

Just make sure you replace the nut kit while you are replacing the injector. They are prone to failure just as much as the injector.

Also remember to clean the front EGR passage seeing it will be probably clogged full of carbon.

And remember to use a new upper plenum gasket and torque the upper plenum bolts with a torque wrench.

If they are overtorqued, they will break and you will be in for some major problems.
