I am trying to repalce the rear disc on my Blazer but I cant get the disc unit off.I replace don side with no trouble but this one just wont budge.
Do I need a gear type puller of some sort or can I heat it up with a
small torch,etc.

Then how is the disc held in place?

The rear disc is on one piece type hub. There is a parking brake in the
hub assembly. The other side, which came off,I just pulled on it a few
times and the assembly comes off.

I had this problem on my rear... The horseshoe slipped in side the rotor and it just took a lot of prying to get it off...(No damage to the horseshoe)

Just like the front...

And what probably happened as I described above, is one of these probably slipped...These are the emergency brake shoes that reside inside the drum portion of the rotor.

You might have to smack it with a hammer too (I did)...

well at last it came off!It was frozen on the inner drum.
One big problem, the upper clip that holds the upper shoe
broke.Can I do without the clip ?

Are you talking about the clip that holds the parking brake shoe? If so, you need this to hold the shoe in place or it will twist inside the drum. If your talking about the clips on the disc pads, they are they to prevent noise and without them, the stands will wear out.

I think he's talking about the clip for the horseshoe.... You can get that from the dealer for a buck a clip... DO NOT USE A SCREWDRIVER on the screw that holds it in, use a 7mm socket...

yes the horse shoe clip.Went to 2 chevey dealers, and get this,
that clip cost me 33.00 DOLLARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !
Why? You have to buy a new horse shoe to get it!
What a total rip off.

well the horse shoes come in pairs, so not a total ripoff...You could always pull one from a wreck..
