I need to install a new power mirror on the passenger side of my 98 Venture. Any ideas where I can get info on how to do this? Is it possible to do it myself? Thanks for any info. I did purchase a new mirror to install.

does it already have power mirrors? if it does you should be able to pull the door panel, undo the three bolts and plug the new one in. If not, good luck I have never done this on a venture I did on my 88 C1500 though!

Matthew is right - 3 bolts is about it.

If you want to set some pictures, check here:

If you mean just the glass, it's easy. My wife broke the glass on my 98 venture side mirror while backing out of the driveway.I bought the mirror, and on the back, it has two or three (can't remember) plastic type bolts sticking out, on round pivots, attached to a plastic plate, which is glued to the glass. These little bolts screw in and out to position the mirror when trying to adjust the power mirror from the switch inside on the door.To install the glass I just pressed firmly on the outside of mirror , lining up the bolts to holes in the assembly and they skidded into position. All done.
If you mean replace the whole mirror assembly then yes, go through the side inside panel. Never done that yet.
Good luck
Kevin

Where did you buy the mirror.glass only? I just whacked my passenger mirror this morning and broke the glass. The housing is ok, but the glass and the plate it is attached to came out.
Thanks, Bob

You can go to pretty much any glass shop and they can cut you a replacement piece of glass. If the original was curved ("Objects in mirror may appear farther...) then you probably are going to have to go back to the dealer. If the plate was broken, then that probably also is a dealer only but if it just popped out, it can be reused and just glue the mirror back on. I did this with an old Toyota when someone hit the mirror when it was parked on the street one day.

I went to the dealer or a junkyard ,can't remember, but I was able to buy the mirror only and a couple of the plastic bolts which snap in behind the mirror. Just press glass into position and activate mirror adjustment knob to set it.
