I'm no longer receiving an email letting me know someone replied to a thread anymore, even though I still have the option selected when I post. Any idea why Admin? Anyone else have this problem?

be patient, it might take a bit for the responses to come in.

lol, that was my honest to god next question to you, most likely yes it is aol, they suck, switch to a dsl line, a little more, but if not for the speed, the outright better service is worth the extra 10 bucks a month

I wish I could get DSL for only $10 more. My only choice where I live is DWay, they want $100/ month or $60/month if I pay for $600 worth of equipment.

Goddamnit. I hate the fact that AOL SUX SO MUCH!
I've been with them since the dawn of time, and have SOOOOO many contacts that know only that email. It'd be impossible to inform ALL of them (whom I don't talk to for years sometimes) of my NEW account. I have one through COX as well. Its COX CABLE INTERNET, although its slow as hell.

all i have to say is blazee you guys are bending over and taking it for 100 dollers a month, specally that your in the us, yahoo has dsl for less then that, you muust be in the flats or boonies arent ya? if not, 100 a month for dsl is a joke, you can run a t1 or t3 line for that kind of cash, and a cable line shouldnt be slow one bit, ive never heard of cox but either way, cable is such a huge line, they are overloading their servers so they dont have to pay to keep youguys online they just slow down your bandwith rates, and screw you over, yeah wow, both of you move to the yankee states and you will be better off lol

I didn't say I pay that much...I use aol dial-up. The best I get is 28k. I'm 9 miles from town....no cable. As far as DSL...no yahoo, no bellsouth, no sprint, I've checked them all. DWay is my only choice and they can kiss my ass. You would think that they would cut me a break because I have had DirecTV (same company) for almost 10 years.

the sad thing is that probibly is their break if your 9 miles from town, its sad, and searously sucks but in order for dsl to work proporly you need a hot box within 4 miles of you... and if you only get 28 k upgrade your modum to a 56k, its twice as quick, it must searously take forever to load pages and open e mail, i get impation when i "slow down" to 128 k lol my normal speed is over 600 k, you have my pitty

There has to be local cable or dsl providers.

I don't know why you guys are settling for yahoo or AOL crap.

My modem is 56k. The line will only support 28k. I can go to someone elses house in town (laptop) and dial the same access numbber and get over 50k. Sucks bad spend $3000 on a bad ass laptop and the $500 dell desktop cruises the web just as fast.

I use aol because I like the Email, plus they give you McAfee virusscan, McAfee firewall, and Spyware protection. I use FireFox for browsing (most of the time).

AOL emial sucks bigtime, they filter more good mail than bad.

Never get sucked into an ISP because of the free software.

if you want free spyware, firewall and spam blockers, go towww.majorgeeks.com (http://www.majorgees.com) and give the site a tour around, check the brown colum on the left hand side and go nuts, its all there, its what i do because verizons blockers are all idiot proof, im more advanced then idiot user, and they dont give me any freedome with it so i just disable it all

i just proved all free software offered by any isp is available free to everybody reguardless of your isp, majorgeeks.com also has great stuff for vision and contrasts, it is very nice if you look around, once you know how to use it, the site is a breeze to tour around

I use AdAware, Spybot S&D, and Spyware Blaster too.
I'm pretty leary about using an others because a lot of freeware is just spyware in disguise.
