E38 BMW 740iL - Do they feel big to drive?bimmerskickass2 02-28-2005, 05:30 AM Hi all, I am looking at purchasing an E38 BMW 740iL, I was just wondering if any owners of the E38's out there could tell me if they feel like a big car to drive? Like, Are they an annoyance to get in and out of carparks and do they handle like a big car (eg, small rounabouts - do they cause problems etc..?) I can't wait to test drive one however i am unable to legally drive a car yet. Any posts would be appreciated. The only thing that maybe a lil "big" feeling is the cornering, because it is a rather large vehicle unless the sport package is included. Otherwise, I don't think so. My dad had a 740iL and he had no trouble. I guess you can consider a lil extra length on it other wise just drive normally but never take any chances. Get a feel for the car first really, it's the best thing you can do. I'f you've driven a luxury sedan, even the ones with shorter wheelbases, it's not that much different. Tight parking is no big deal and this car is very agile and even on the quick side. If that is your concern, don't let it be. Dan vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
