I have a 2002 3.5L ES. Car will come close to stalling or stalls when you are stating from a stop or reducing speed at 20KM or less when you accelerating and take you foot off the accelerator. It does not happen all the time. Only happens when it is -20 C or colder. Does not occur during warmer temps or speeds higher than 20KM in cold weather. Chrysler does not know what the problem is. Chrylser has spent many hours and part replacement. The problem is like a gost, problem occurs very rarely more than 3 times when it shows up. Any body have suggestions :banghead:

first of all what type of fuel are you burning cheaper
no name brands or a name brand such as esso- shell-petrocan when this happens pay particular attention to this very important for diagnostics also how many kilometers on engine have you ever maintained it such as injector flushes{ not an additive in the gas tank }and cleaning throttle body bore and does the engine lamp ever come on there is updates to pcm and valve springs for stumbling and erroneous missfire code and certain driveability concerns ask your dealer about them they may apply to your vehicle

Using top of the line fuel. This problem started the first winter ( 6 months old). I only have 32000km on the car

must have minimum air flow checked to confirm proper amount of air into engine

Chrysler has done this many times. The problem will not show up when it is not outside being driven in the cold. They even put a portable cumputer analizer on the car for a week, and still nothing came up wrong when the car stalled or almost stalled. I have taken them for a drive and shown what happens and the poor mechanic still does not know what is causing it. They have replaced software, computer, seners, the list goes on.

A few of my thoughts :arching of plug wires or coil pack ,torque converter lock up problem, vacuum leak,(false air)ac compressor locking up. Pat

no spark plug wires on this engine has COP ignition
i have crossed this a few times and throttle body was out of callibration needed new one if not under warranty you can try to adjust it but monitor your tps with a DVOM for refference and you will get results check it out it's not too hard to do
