hi...I just got a 1996 chevy blazer LT and the cd player didn't work in it so I went out and bought a new one. Well it doesn't fit because it is to long. Its a normal size store bought am/fm/cd. It hits some plastic looking thing in the back, I'm almost positive it isn't the firewall and I was wondering 1. if anyone knows what it might be, 2. if anyone has had problems installing store bought radios in their blazers, and 3. if you have to have a certain type of radio for a 1996 blazer what kind of radio is it. I don't know if this is a full size blazer or an s-10 but i think its an s-10, I don't know if that makes a difference but i thought i would include it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

you need to get a harnest for the cd player

you will need to cut a small portion of the back plastic plate for it to fit properly.

Also note, your speakers will not sound great because they are stock 6 ohm when the after market decks are made for 4 ohm.

If you buy an aftermarket kit to install your stereo, it will bring your player out from the dash enough so there is no cutting involved, yhey are well worth the money

yep, about $10 at walmart. You need the one for 82+ chevy, the 92+ chevy won't work.

if ti's a single din you will need an adaptor face plate to make it fit and the wiring harness if it's a double din your screwed, take it back. check at www.crutchfield.com to see what they have to offer.
all the stuff comes with the order and instalation instructions,too.
