Wow, that sucks, I know that is alot of work and then to have another problem. So i will try and help as best I can. So I am assuming that the oil level is fine and so is the coolant. What kind of noise and location on engine would help, If you know?

Ok, instead of guessing and giving you maybe it's this or that stuff. I referred to my haynes manual(chapter 2a-15). The only thing they show that would due that is either a bad oil pump, oil pressure regulator valve, clogged oil strainer or clogged oil filter. 3 out of four of these have to due with the oil pump itself. Since you replaced the oil twice I would assume that you also replaced the oil filter. They also suggest a bad sensor, but if it was bad I would assume that it would not work, which is not what is happening to you. Hope this may help you

How bad was the leak? Mine was so bad the oil foamed which wouldn't pump thru all the passages and the bearings were scarred. I think I could of changed without rebuilding, but I was probably close to spinning a bearing. Sounds like more work is needed on engine.

Ok, if the oil pump is damaged or clogged it will have little or low oil presure, which will cause the malfunction light to come on. According to the manual, this is only a critical estimate of dangerously low oil presure which would cause components in the engine to start failing. So it is not so much the "oil pump" making the noise but rather a failing of internal working in the engine.

ok when i finished changing the intake gasket i drove the van around part of the day with no problem but the next day i started driving to work i went about 15 miles and thats when it started the noises. i'm just hoping its not the head gasket or crank bearings. so how would i check to make sure there ok.

Well, to drop the oil pan you will (according to this manual) basically take everything off of the motor from underneath and support the engine with a special brace from the top. At this point unless you have alot of supports and hydralic lift, I hate to say this, but it will have to go in to a shop. Again this is the haynes manual and they due show how to do it but I have to tell you this is quite a disassemble project. This involves air conditioner compressor, front exhaust, lower ball joint seperation, steering gear monting bolts, power steering lines, starter removal, hood removal, engine torque struts and finally loosening and removal of some of the subframe bolts and lowering of the right side of the subframe. Like I said it is alot of work for a personnel garage man. IF anybody else can help , please let us know.

is there oil in the engine? if not you may have a leak. you may have gotten a piece of gasket or rtv in the engine and sucked up by the oil pump screen plugging it.
