Any One know a trick to install belt? 96 Cav

This thing is bugging the hell outa me...why don they make these with tention pullies like other cars...

does any know a trick on how to install this belt on a 96 cavalier.
I took it off and yes it was tought to get off,,but now that I have to put it back on I need about 1 inch to get it on..and these things dont stetch at all...

I was wondering did it shrink since I took it off 3 days ago?

the engine size is 2.2 L. and Im not sure what kinda of belt it is..

Its a pretty solid belt with no stretch to it

You use the idler pully... do a search i made a how to not too long ago..

My 2.2 doesnt have a pully like the image...

I've got a 2.4, however there should be an idler pully. There should be a diagram somewhere in the engine bay that shows proper routing. You should be able to get at the idler pully with a ratchet or if it has the triangular hole in it, use anything that will fit in there to take tension off. You really need to come on to it to get enough slack to install the new belt.

I was used to seeing the other type tentioner that you pull up.
I see how the idler pully rotates downward with a 15mm ratchet..
