you might either have a turbo..... or if your going really fast as you reach your higher rpms.. you could have an airleak between your windows and the frame.. (nothing a little bit of felt can't fix...) but i seriously doubt you have the airleak thing... Probably a turbo....

I'm sorry to say this... its quite random... but here's my spill cause i've gotta say it...

Anyone who has a car.... and doesn't know if they have a turbo or not in it... should be kicked.... HARD....

lol.... okay okay.. just had to say it... ^_^

I dont think you have a turbo unless you had it installed a turbo wasnt an option on 1993-1997 probes you might have a small leak in your exhaust that some times makes this sound.

If you have a system in your car that is highly amplified it might also cause a whistle due to bad grounding you might be able to hear engine noise...

have you installed a throttle body spacer lately? I heard that some models have been reported to make a whistling sound when you accelerate...just another thing to check lol hope it narrows your search

hey my 94 does that to, i thought it was just my ram air intake. lol, i don't see what the problem is though. if it is something, it is something small.

i would bet that it is ur belts if it does it all the time cause if it is a turbo then it would just be when the turbo kicks in at high rpms but belts r constant. there r a few ways 2 fix it if it is
1. start the car and take a bar of soap and let the belt rub on it so it has some lube.
2. go 2 like napa or some car store and buy a $5.00 bottle of belt squeak stuff
3. pull on the belt when the car is off and if the belt moves kinda a lot then tighten it
oh and ur pcv vlave on the gt is on the front valve cover towards the top right. it is like a little plug, u can pull it out with ur fingers. 2 c if it is bad then pull it and shake it if it rattles it is fine but if it doesnt then u need 2 replace it they r hella cheap $5-10

I have the same high pitched whistle in my probe too and i checked it out and there appears to be a silencer on the exhaust up in the areas of where the pipe bends up towards the engine you might have the same thing on yours.

hey ever thought that it could be coming out of your speakers? Seriously..they higher the RPM's the higher and more annoying the pitch.. Right? I have the same prob. it's not a turbo but I used to joke with people and tell them I did. It could be interference from the engine. Next time it does it smack/kick the passenger side part of the console..seriously, it looks funny and I probally sound stupid, but it's true!!!!!
