1997 blazer dying while driving

about a month ago while driving my blazer would lose power but never die I would notice cuze all my gages would light up like it would die and start up again will I was driving, Now !! While I am driving It dies and I have to put in neutral to start while I'm coasting.. Any Answers?? also my gages when I start my truck they are delayed ,I turn the key and bout 3 sec. then my gages light up. I haven't a clue on any of this. Any help would be appreciated!!!!!

I'd say it's probably the ignition switch. 97s are bad about having faulty ignition switches (not the part you put the key in, the switch is inside the column). Search this forum for "ignition switch" and you will find lots of info. See if you have the same symptoms they describe. Someone here can probably tell you how to test it.
