1994 S-10 Blazer Vibrates Horribly

I have a 1994 S-10 Blazer with the 4wd package. It starts vibrating at 40 mph up to 80 mph with the vibration gradually increasing with accelleration. When I let off the gas the vibration stops. When the 4wd is engaged it vibrates very very little. I have also noticed on occasions when exiting the interstate it sounds like something is winding down on the right front side. When almost to a complete stop there is a "kerplunk" and the sound is gone. Maybe they are related? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'd start by checking the U-joints. :iceslolan

Yes, when I shift from forward to reverse there is a loud pinging sound. :grinyes:

Yeah its gotta be the u-joints i destroyed the tranny in my 87 because of that.

I think it is time for new U-Joints. Don't wait. Do you do your own work? If not, take the truck in and have the U-joints checked and/or replaced. :naughty:

All fixed up. Well at least the shaking is gone. New rear U-joint fixed that. But my 4wd went out today. Don't know if it's just the switch or something worse.

Give us more detail on the 4wd problem. Was it working when you took it in?

Yes, it worked up untill yesterday when I was coming home from work. It has the on the fly switch on the dash. When you press the 4 HI button the light doesn't come on and you can't hear a switch sound like you used to. :uhoh:
