Bobert 03-06-2005, 03:44 PM Are you sure it is smoke? Whats the weather like when you start it? What does the smoke look like? IOs it White, BLuish, Does it stink? blindfoldedhope 03-07-2005, 09:32 AM I have the same damn problem its just embarassing just drop in a used engine it will save you $ in the long run check your oil 2 mine has been burning about 4 quarts ever 1,000-1,500 miles shawnwilliams 03-29-2005, 12:08 AM It might just be the computer, try to reset it by starting you car then immediately turn it off, wait 5 secs do it again then after the next 5secs your computer should be reseted. And see if it still does it. mikentc90 04-19-2005, 03:28 PM smoking on startup is usualy just the valve guide seals. not a serious problem. Bobert 04-19-2005, 06:04 PM smoking on startup is usualy just the valve guide seals. not a serious problem. What is a good way to take care of that problem? I have heard everything from Pro Long to Seafoam. mikentc90 04-20-2005, 03:16 AM Those are simple temporary fixes. the only way to truely fix it is to get new valve guide seals installed. I am a do-it-yourself guy, so this for me is fairly easy. If you are not a do-it-yourselfer, it will probably cost a couple hundred bucks. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
