Wind noise fix

I have a Montana which is the same as a Venture except for the grill. I also had the same annoying wind "moan" seeming to come from the windshield/dash area at highway speeds especially in crosswinds. The fix is this:
Open the driver's and passenger's doors to expose the edge of the windshield. Take a dull screwdriver and tuck the lip on the edge of the door seal under the lip on the edge of moulding the windshield sits in. Start at one end and just work your way to the other end. That's all there is to it. Worked 100% on mine!

Im not sure what you did.
Was it the seal being out that made the noise? Was there a gap that made the noise.
I know it's hard to describe some things.

Yes, there was a slight gap that allowed just enough air through in a crosswind that the air could could start to vibrate, somewhat like the noise produced when you blow across the top of an open bottle. Tucking the door seal lip under the windshield seal lip seals that gap and stops that extremely annoying noise 100%, at least on my van .

Do you have (or could you get) any pictures?

Before & after would be great.

Take care,

Sorry, I'm still pretty much in the stone age photo-wise. However, assuming your Venture is the same as my Montana, and assuming we're talking about the same noise, the description is actually pretty easy.

You should be able to, with the door open, see where the edge of the windshield moulding or seal meets the edge of the door seal. On mine as it came from the factory, the lip on the edge of the door seal was above the lip on the edge of the windshield seal. I simply worked the door seal lip under the windshield seal. It takes a little bit of technique, like 3 hands and screwdrivers maybe, but it was no big deal. You could accomplish the same thing by running a neat bead of black silicone to seal the gap between the 2 seal lips. Hope this helps.

My wife was at wits end also. It worked 100%.

Wow, I am going to try this tomorrow. Never thought to try moving the moulding. I tried taping all the seals and it didnt fix it, makses sense since I didnt tape the seal inside the door. I wonder what it would take to get Chevy to release a new seal. I bet everyone gets this noise at some point, just not all of them are on this forum or online.

I put up a little blurb with pictures here:

If you could, please check it out and see if I got the right information there. I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

Now I need the wind to kick up so I can test. I used a quarter to push he door seal under the window seal. If it doesnt fix it, I will try a bit of black rtv at the top corner of the windows. There seems to be a gap there that could also be causing the wind noise. Btw, a quarter works great for pushing the seal under.
