engine swap civic hatchbacknickmgray 03-21-2002, 12:35 AM got a question. I'm looking into a civic hatchback CX and am planning on an engine swap with a b16a. Will the engine fit as it is or do I have to do any modifications to the civic. Please be as detailed as possible. Oh and if you know of any good sites to get a b16a. Thanks. dreemkill 03-21-2002, 12:58 AM *sigh* FAQ. top of page. madtownhonda 03-21-2002, 02:18 AM hondamotorsonline.com they have all the parts list, the best price, and the best service fast fast shipping...less than a week nickmgray 03-21-2002, 12:31 PM I checked the faq post but it wasn't much help. Basically I need to know if I have to push the fire wall back to put a b16a in my hatchback. Anyone know? stefan525 03-21-2002, 02:18 PM Well fist, what year civic are you talking about. Second you don't have to move the firewall at all. I just finished putting in a B18C1 (integra GSR) motor into my 97 Civic. It fit with no problem. If you have a 92-95 civic and want to put a b16a it will fit with no problem. Make sure you buy the whole swap ( motor, trany, ecu, axles, shift linkage, wire harness, eng. mounts etc.) If you have a 96-00 civic you will need a 99-00 civic si engine wire harness and the aft eng. mount bracket. Unless you want to do a lot of cutting, extednding and add wires and plugs to your oem civic harness. I was able to use my 97 civic eng. harness, but I had to do a lot of soldering. Its up to you how you want to do it. But make sure you get all your parts first before you attempt your swap. Im still looking for a GSR catalitic converter:( . Good luck. :alien: Beyond Imagination 03-21-2002, 02:24 PM Originally posted by nickmgray I checked the faq post but it wasn't much help.
