Halfway Into The Red?ahhhhhhhh!!!!!!yeedatoy 02-23-2005, 02:00 AM ok,heres the deal.i recently removed my throttle body spacer because its a piece of crap and would not allow me to reach full throttle, even with many adjustments.please dont ever buy one,at least a helix, they make noises and ruin crap.anyway.i finally got to hit full throttle after 6 months of hell, but the gears started to change late.after a day or two the gears wont change at all,and the rpms shoot way into the red.when i floor it from an idle everything shifts perfectly, but if i floor it when im already moving, the rpms shoot into the red and wont shift and the car makes a terrible noise.please help.everytime i have a shifting issue or acceleration problem people in forums or mechanics say,"damn your tranny must be going" or "thats gonna cost you a lot" but im tired of hearing that crap because it always turns out to be something inexpensive and stupid, and a new tranny should be the last resort for somthing like this.please help, thanks! Ehscrewdude 02-23-2005, 07:37 AM unplug your ecu and drive around again.... and make sure you didn't mess anything up with your throttle cable... Igovert500 02-23-2005, 10:24 PM I'm assuming your car is auto...? Are you getting any warning lights? If so get the codes pulled from the ECU. SenseiAccord 02-24-2005, 01:19 AM well usually all cars nowdays come with rev limiters to protect the engine. u should be more scared about the engine valve floating than the tranny. high tranny speed wont really have much harm. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
