My 97 dodge ram tranny seems to take a couple of bumps when i take off. it is occansional and is like i hit a couple of bumps when i take off. it is almost like a mounting bolt is missing or something, but it doesn't happen all the time. it started after my tranny over heated. i corrected th heating problem, but the prolbem continues to come and goe. I replaced the check valve with a new one and all the selinoid and sensers, did a flush and a new filter, but still there.

Can it be a stuck or clogged valve. ANY IDEAS?

Do you have the electonic verison with the govenor solenoid? if not could be a stuck gov. valve or try taking off the rear drive shaft and clean out the splines on the dirve shaft slip yoke and transfer case output splines and lube it up with some teflon grease

Hi Troy1
I have the 46re electronic tranny, but i replaced the shift solenoid and transducer. Are ethier of these actually the govenor soleniod or is it a different part?
In your reply, you said the yoke could cause this kind of behavior? Why?
Also, could this be caused by the torque converter or clutch?

The Gov. is the shinny quater sized sol with the shield around it. The yoke gets metal in the splines and gets stuck, when you take off the axle rotates and the yoke needs to move freely on the splines if not you get a bump. as for the TCC I dont think that would do it.
