Coming up on 60K and besides the fluids, the owners manual isn't really to informative. I have a long trip ahead of me too probably towing a trailer, so I am wondering what things I need to take care of beisdes the obvious fluids, and what I should take care of now for the better good of my truck.

Suspension? Front & rear...?
Hoses, clamps, belts?

Please PM me

Assuming you did everything the owners manual said, on my 1996 2.2 I also changed the serpentine belt, sparkplugs, wires, greased wheel bearings, changed oil in tranny (3 quarts of Synchromesh avail. at Autozone +GM friction modifier), changed oil in rearend, changed antifreeze, bled and inspected brakes and bled clutch to get fresh fluid in it. Also changed rad. hoses. That's all I can think of but I'm very particular with maintenance. Been working on cars 25 years and from experience can tell ya that neglecting the little stuff will leave you walking. If I were to put a priority on anything before you make a trip do the hoses and drive belt first.

at 50 K I...
repacked bearings
new wires and plugs
turned rotors and adjusted and cleaned drums and all brake parts

antifreeze was done at 35 (along with pretty much everything the manual says)
turned rotors and new pads, repacked bearings.
along with tranny fluid w/ filter and new gasket

I have checked the rear dif. fluid, and topped off before but never had it changed.

Blazer you can probably explain it better than google.

A PVC Valve is a 1 way valve that lets the extra gasses inside the valve cover escape into the air box close to the air filter... Then the gasses are sucked into the motor and burned.

It's usually plugged into the valve cover with a thick vacume hose going to it.

Good luck on your trip, and have fun

I know I explain it better, but people need to actually do some research before they ask questions.

Just trying to get him to find it himself.

Thanks for the info OverBoard. I know exactly what you're talking about, just didn't know that that is what that part did.

pcv is located on the passenger side of the engine right under the throttle body on your valve cover.
