After changing distributor cap and rotor and driver side knock sensor(engine started to miss and die while turning or stoping) ,i started to get very loud explosions thru the exhaust pipe, even thought it idles much better, also i noticed a reduccion in power while driving.Any of the Gurus here has any opinion?
Thanks
PD the explosions happens while i get my foot off the pedal ,as soon as i accelerate they will go away.

did it start as soon as you changed cap and rotor? if so check over your work make sure correct firing order, and that both cap and rotor are setted properly.

I rechecked the firing order on the manual ,the cap and rotor are seated properly and yes it started just after replacing the cap and rotor.
Will the engine even start with the spark plug cables connected wrong?
The idle seems fine...

if it started with the wrong fireing order, your replacing the lifters... you would know that by now... only thing that comes to mind right now is a sticky exhaust valve, or something along those lines

The firing order is out for sure.

Do you have the TBI or CPI 4.3L?

It is the CPI 4.3 L, isn`t the firing order 2,4,6 passanger side,1,3,5 driver side ,clockwise?

Do you have the round distributor or the horizontal one where the plug wires plug in from the side?

according to the haynes manual the firing order on the 87 and later (mine`s 92) is different,i`m probably screwed up,will the error cause additional problems ,like valves broken or other nightmares?

Should be the same for the 1994 or the 1992.

is the exhaust loud, you may have a leak or something, or maybe your timing may be slightly off, thats about all i can think of, unless for some reason the distributor got turned, then you may be able to turn it back very little, but that shouldnt make any difference, you probably have e.s.c.

Sounds like his firing order and spark plug connections are out of whack.
