car starts when it wants to.sekhemet 02-21-2005, 01:18 PM Hi I drive a 98 dodge stratus, and I am having problems starting it. On nice days or dry days, the car starts up fine, without a moment of hesitation and runs great. However if its wet out the thing will just not start. It turns over fine, the battery is good and so are the connectors. It turns over, but no ignition. I don't know why it dosnt start all the time, what is getting wet? or is it something completely different. I had it taken to the shop a while ago, and they replaced the Fuel module, I also had my sparkplugs, and spark plug wires replaced, which was a pain and I had to take it into the shop becaue three of them are on the bottom of the intake manifold, so they are hard to check.... It ran great for about a month before all of this started happeining, where is starts when it wants to... anybody have any ideas? theFREAKnasty82 02-22-2005, 08:55 AM you probably have excess moisture built up in your air intake snorkel. Check around the snorkel for cracks or breaks and make sure it's intact; a little bit of water in the intake stream will cause hard starting. Also, check your filter, make sure it's clean, if it gets soggy, it'll cause the engine to injest moisture as well. ddhk 03-23-2005, 04:29 PM have your sencors checked vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
