93 4X4 front wheel bearing repairtude123 02-20-2005, 01:25 PM I have a 93 4X4 with what I think is a bad front wheel bearing. I also have the manufacturer's service for the truck and it talks about this rather complicated sounding "preload adjustment". I do all my own work on my cars, and own a fairly good assortment of tools. I have no experience working on four wheel drives. Two questions for those who have done front wheel bearing jobs on these model trucks. 1. Can this job be done by the average home mechanic- OK, slightly better than average :grinno: (Ar! Ar!) 2. And if 'yes' to the first question...how do you do this preload adjustment. sparkygoat 03-08-2005, 05:04 PM I did it on an 83 4x4 nissan in a parking lot in about an hour. I'm not sure what this preload thing is on your truck. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
