Timing problemsamtheman77 02-20-2005, 11:38 AM So here i go again I have an 88 accord, when changing the time belt i moved the crankshaft and the timing marks are not lined up, so i lined up the cam and crank marks and still the car doesnt start, all the timing marks are correct and at TDC on the compression stroke, i have fuel and spark, the timing belt is replaced new, the car cranks a few times sometimes starts and then dies in a few seconds, sometimes there are sparks from around the distributor housing. Ps someone please confirm for me as well, the timing marks in the bellhousing, when its at the right position I have no zero or TDC marking its just a red line, is that the zero mark? lorunner 02-20-2005, 06:17 PM White mark is TDC. Red is used for ignition timing i think its 15 degree. Also if your getting sparks from around the distributor then i would look into it. May need a new cap and rotor. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
