95 Lesabre Massive Oil Leak

A 95 LeSabre 3.8L (L) series engine has a nasty oil leak. The oil is running at a good clip from inbetween the corner of the oil pan and oil filter housing. At first I thought it was the oil filter flange gasket, replaced it, same leak. Then changed the oil pan gasket. Same leak. Changed both valve cover gaskets, same leak. I just picked up the gasket set for the timing cover, crank seal, H2O pump, etc. as this appears to be my last resort. Have I covered all my bases? Any suggestions you could offer with respect to removal of the timing cover would be appreciated. It appears that the motor mount will need to be removed. Thanks- Joe

There's a good chance that the cause of your oil leak is actually the front crankshaft seal. The replacement of which... will not be enjoyable. At the very least, the harmonic balancer will need to be removed.

To remove the timing cover or water pump, the right engine torque strut mount and bracket must be removed. Utilize the right rear engine lift point to lift the weight of the engine off the torque strut, then loosen the relevant bolts (8 in all I believe). Then lift the engine until the cap for the power steering unit nearly touches the strut tower brace. At that moment, and not before or with the engine any lower, the mounting bracket will slide right out.
