service vehicle light cztz81 02-18-2005, 10:49 PM
My daughter is looking into buying a 2002 pontiac grand am, it has 63,000 miles. The service vehicle light is staying on, had it checked at advanced auto they say there are no codes coming up when they check it. Anyone have any ideas what could be going on??? FormulaLT1 02-19-2005, 01:35 AM If the light is on but there are no code. I would suggest replacing the bulb. Also welcome to the forum. Hi, I have the same problem with my Grand Am. I took mine to the dealer because I was worried about not passing State inspection with the service light being on. They told me it had something to do with the (drl) daytime running lights but they were still working. My car passed inspection anyway and I've been driving with the light on ever since. Mr. Luos 02-22-2005, 12:35 PM Service Vehicle Soon snd Service Engine Soon are different lights. Service Vehicle Soon shouldn't cause it to not pass inspection. Obviously, it is a light for things other than the motor. Lightbulbs, brakes, etc... The only time I have ever seen this light was with a lightbulb out. Hope that helps a little.
