here's what's going on. when i push in the clutch(performance)it acts as if it isnt even there. i will try make a complete stop and it will just stall. plus when i push it all the way in, i can still use the accellerator like normal.. on start up, i have to start in first, and when i get it started i cant shift into 2nd perfectly, cause it makes a grinding sound for about a 2 seconds then falls in.:banghead: any info will be helpul

sounds like your clutch master or slave cylinder may be bad, or even a leak in the fluid line...check for leaks and possibly bleed the line with new fluid!

I'll second that, hydraulic issues. Check for fluid in the slave, behind the boot, and at the master, inside the firewall where the clutch rod goes through to the master. If there is no leakage, check the lines. Either way, flush/rebleed the system. A quick search on here should bring up some pretty detailed instructions on how to do that. The longer you drive like this, the more it will wear on your synchros...

i had something similar to that, but it turned out to be a couple of very bent fingers on the pressure plate...

this is opposed to when i had a slight engine fire [do a search on this site for fire in this forum] and another time i had a bad master/slave [look under the dash to where the rod goes into the firewall and if you see leakage you got a bad master/slave] and all i had to do to TEMP fix the problem was fill the master resivior so it would work properly, untill i had the $$ and time to fix the whole thing.

so how old is the clutch?

the firewall is the part that separates the inside of your car from the engine compartment. if you look at you clutch pedal, there is a rod sticking out from the firewall that connects to the pedal. do a visual inspect for any fluid leakage or anything wet.
