re: turbo to non-turboYungstar007 02-18-2005, 12:42 AM Have any of you gone from a turbo back to a non-turbo (if anyone at all)? If so, what was the transition like? Unfortunately due to high insurance costs (along with payments on the car), I may find myself parting with my TSI AWD, unless I can somehow find a decent rate. I would still like to have a DSM in some manner, even if I have to resort to a n/t (insurance is also more forgiving.) A guy I'm talking to is currently looking to sell his 99 GS, possibly with cash added to the fold. The loss of performance would definitely be irritating. Has anyone experienced the difference going back? Thanks in advance. mitsu_eclipse95gst 02-18-2005, 12:48 AM ummmm why? Whould you want to make it NA. Why would you even think of sell it for a GS? Have you lost your mind? do you have alot of tickets or something? imtheoneandonlyD 02-18-2005, 12:49 AM :iagree: gthompson97 02-18-2005, 12:51 AM that's odd, my insurance didn't change at all from a non-turbo to a turbo, it's actually going to go down because i went from mitsubishi to eagle (import vs. domestic) i wouldn't sell the car if i was you. just don't insure or drive it for awhile until you can make payments on insurance and if that's not the case, check exactly what it will change before you do it, go get a quote right from the company, not just from people on here like me will tell you, that will give you the closest possible estimate. mitsu_eclipse95gst 02-18-2005, 12:52 AM yea really i had a GS and it didnt change at all just the VIN# gsxeclipse97 02-18-2005, 01:34 AM I don't think that i could stand the loss of power good luck my insurance went down after i got the gsx from my rs the the ins was 350 for liability that was with no tickets BoostedSpyder 02-18-2005, 01:51 AM do what you want, but you are not going to be happy without the turbo... :) shop your ins around to all the local brokers and online to... for reference i pay $1400 every 6 months... but i got a bunch of stuff on my liscence and live in So-Cali... tfoti 02-18-2005, 02:14 AM Get a beater and save up some money. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
