'94 Grand Am Coil Question... yotatechie04 02-17-2005, 07:37 PM
Okay, I just purchased this car for 300.00. It's a GT with the 3100 V-6. Now the guy who I had gotten it off of had replaced one of the ignition coils, but what he did was removed the coil for the no. 3 and 6 and replaced it with another one that is for the 2 and 5. Since I'm not all too familiar with these engines, will this effect how the car runs since that isn't the correct coil? Thanks in advance. swalt 02-17-2005, 08:36 PM You are fine. The 3 coil packs are all the same. All the numbers represent are the corresponding cylinders they fire for (they are original factory coil packs and are numbered that way). When you buy aftermarket or replacement packs, there are no numbers on them. yotatechie04 02-17-2005, 08:52 PM Thanks. That's what I originally thought, but I figured that it would be better to ask and be safe instead. Thanks again. :) Related Links Enter the largest automotive community on the planet! |
