Rough idle and stallingjan-aruba 02-17-2005, 07:11 PM I have a 1999 Ford Explorer XLT, V-6 4.0 ltr SOHC, the problem I have is that sometimes it idles very rough and when you give it some gas it backfires, and sometimes it completly stalls. I checked with a scanalizer for trouble codes and found cam position sensor, replaced him and cleared the codes, but it is still the same. I also checked fuel pressure and de fuelpump but that all looks good, and I got the injectors cleaned. Please could anybody help me with this problem, because even the Ford Dealer here on Aruba doesn't know what's the problem. Thanks very much, Jan Aruba brendl 02-18-2005, 04:13 PM Jan, check this thread - sounds like a very common x problem - dirty Mass Airflow Sensor and/or Idle Air Controller <http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=154288&highlight=iac> jaskel 02-24-2005, 06:07 AM or could also be the Idle control valve...
