Me and 97tsi have been talking about racing our se-r's, and having youngvr4 tape it so we met up at a certain superstore. Made our way down to nearest industrial park, and found a nice road. We cruised down, and on the way up we stopped to race. YoungVR4's camera crapped out though so we weren't able to get any footage. :disappoin

Of course we resume our racingthough, and our first real race is from a dig with young flagging us down. Launch is pretty much even with my second gear shift followed by a lot of wheelspin, and 97's clutch was going bad so we stayed even through 2nd, 3rd, and in 4th we hit 100mph, and we were almost dead even, with 97tsi ahead by about a "tire length" as he recalls.

Back up the other way we race, but by this time his clutch is obliterated, and it barely catches so we take it up to 50mph, and he decides to stop that race.

Last race finds us on the freway from a 30mph roll. We pace for a while, and three honks, and we take off him getting a slight lead. We're accelerating pretty evenly though until I reach for 3rd, and I conveniently miss shift, and try to recover, but 3rd gear had disappeared (not literally, but sometimes it can be hard to get right back into the shift) Finally after what seemed to be hours I get back into gear but 97tsi's sentra is bus lengths ahead. whatever.

I think the slippery roads, tsi's bad clutch, and my shoddy driving conspired against us this night. We'll meet up again on a little warmer night when his new clucth is installed and we'll see how that goes. Until then It was at the least a good reunion with fellow members. As for the performance of our cars in their current state I'd say the other se-r is barely :p faster then mine.

Yes 97tsi sold his car for a 91' sentra se-r. The reason I didn't race youngvr4 is because he was in a 1997 or so dodge intrepid...... which is is a few ponies short of a herd. (bad analogy, but what i'm trying to say is his gti which might have provided a good race was not there nor was the vr4 which would have made easy kills of both of us.)

i'd have to say both are pretty good drivers. with unclebens bald tires (and i mean bald!) and 97tsi's clutch goin bad, they took off the jump pretty good. 1st stand still race they had, 97tsi seemed to be getting out of controll(due to ice on the ground) but recovered pretty nicely. and for unclebens bald tires and still able to get out of there with not much problem, they did a good job and was actually impressive to watch.

next time should be more fun :)
