Hi fellas

i have a 94 s-10 with cmfi and a lot of problems.perhaps someone knows
the fuelline poppet sequence. as it was removed,it stayed intact.the left
side is not a problem as the sequence was 1,3,5. however the right side
2,6,4. does anybody know if it matters? it appears that the fuel leak
perhaps supplied fuel to the righthand cylinders by the massive leak at the regulator and then became overwhelmed to the point of running on
only three cyls.PCM shut down and no codes are stored.i removed the injector wires and hope that after reconnecting them to the new cmfi that some or all of the problems will go away. i have every shop manual
made for this vehicle and no mention.i purchased parts from chevy
and came with no diagram or special inst.

It doesn't matter where you put them, they are batch fired.

i,ll accept your premise on this matter at least for the time being but
having setup a big project for Robert Bocsh, while employed at NEW BRITAIN MACHINE I have a general knowledge of that F I,that is used
on G.M. Diesels. We tooled about twenty machines total. Some of the symtoms just don,t make sense.I,m not just a parts replacer having worked at ATWOOD CHEVROLET In Bristol CT,in the mid sixties. It seems
that because G.M. has lost so much market share that parts i made then
were of steel and now it,s mostly plastic and nylon.
Getting back to this batch fired subject, are you suggesting that each
cyl.,gets a fuel charge each and every time regardless of where the piston is or whether the valves are closed?

Yes, they are batch fired and all receive fuel at the same time. They are not sequential and only went that way in 1996+ with the CSFI injection system.

It don,t make any sense to spray fuel into a cylinder when the intake valve is closed.
I,m going to take your word for it unless i find out otherwise. by the way if you were to buy a decent scanner, which one would you buy?
i have a 92 s-10 with tbi of course the 94 and also a 2001 blazer. my wife drives a 92 rs with tbi.i have repaired both 92,s. they are childs
play compared to cmfi. let me thank you sincerely for your advice.

Trust me on this.

Do you need the scanner for extracting codes, or for monitoring sensor values?

Probably a little of both but seeing live data streams, checking sensors
isolating problems quicker would be more helpful. As I said earlier, I don,t wish to replace parts unnecessarily as they are in most cases very expensive. My local Chevrolet dealer does give me a decent break off
list prices but nowhere near the forty off I enjoyed not too many years ago. I did look at the Snap-On and Sun-Pro but have no idea whether
one would be better than the other. It appears that I were to buy one,it would be in the 400.00 range with OBD-1 AND OBD-2 capable. The most
important feature would be to load the base data for the vehicle as it apparently has an EEPROM. Subtle changes in shift points both upshift
and down shift would be most helpful.
