96 Ram 2500 V-10 gas dies at stoplightsgradywork 02-14-2005, 11:49 AM Our v-10 gas Ram 2500 will start fine but sometimes die going from park to drive and will die at stoplights. Runs great on the highway but will die sometimes when slowing down at lower speeds. Any ideas? fredjacksonsan 02-14-2005, 12:23 PM Throttle Position Sensor? john m 02-14-2005, 12:35 PM Sounds like the problem my '72 Gran Torino Sport has when the vacuum hose attached to the rear of the carb falls off. Good luck!! JM fredjacksonsan 02-19-2005, 10:12 PM You mentioned it could be the Throttle Switch Position sensor. Is this sensor one that needs to be calibrated or do you just hook it up. I assume it is on the throttle body somewhere. Thanks GR Brown gradywork--I tried responding to your pm but it's not enabled through AF. From what I've read, you just hook up the TPS, making sure the shaft is aligned properly with stuff in the throttle bore. There are several posts in here about doing the work on the '96 model, mostly the 5.9L but the 8.0 may be the same. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
