i was thinking this might be fun, lets make a thread and see how big we can make it. This thread is to post small little races that you wouldnt think would deserve a thread of its own, but still worth mentioning for the fun of it. Try and post atleast 2-3 small races a week here to keep it alive. I got 2 to start off, both these races happened on the highway, same part too.

Ok so 2 nights ago im headed home from work, im going onto I-94 i see a new Pontiac G6 coupe, so i pass it kinda hard trying to get a race. he follows me onto the on ramp tailgating me the whole time. As soon as i hit the straight away and he is their too, i wave to him over my shoulder and punch it. Needless to say i left him in my smoke cloud.

Other race was with a Mustang GT, 2000+. Same road, im cruising down doing about 65ish, i pass a Mustang GT getting onto the freeway, i see as soon as he can he punches it and takes off screaming towards me. Well ive always wanted to play with a mustang at high speeds (late night, open 4 lane freeway) so i punch, he catches up to me when im doing about 80MPH, i kept it floored all the way to 105MPH my speed limit, the whole time we were neck and neck. Dead even, just like my other 2 mustang GT races.

Anyone else got some small races to talk about?

Friday night after my official races..I played around with a dude in a red automatic 350z. We messed around from a couple lights. But at one light we got serious. He looked over and nodded, I nodded back and revved it. He nodded. Light turns green..we both took off and ran neck and neck. It's like we came off the line even and continued on dead even until about 80mph where I shut it down. Afterwards I spoke with him at another light and he asked me what I had done and I told him I was stock..he was like 'damn those are faster than i thought'.

Saturday some talon thing followed me..it was turbo because he kept making his BOV pop at me. Light turned green..I left him behind about 3 cars back. But damn his car was screaming like hell. I thought it was right on my ass and then I look in my rearview mirror and he was way back.

I beat a stock 86 mustang. That was nothing special.

I ignored some Nissan SE-R thing to race a WS6..needless to say he handed me my ass. Don't know what he had done.

And that's all. :)

I've only ben in one race (not for lack of looking though), I beat a civic on the Highway in the 3000GT I had, wooo go me!

I raced the only two GLX VR6's in the valley. A black one and a red one. Sadly, I was beaten by them horribly. They just walked away from me :crying: . One of lifes lessons: DON'T PICK AT ANYTHING BIGGER THAN YOU ARE! :biggrin: . But I'd rather not get into any details on that :disappoin . L8...

I dont really street race, but a couple months ago I kept one of my friends at college from passing me. He's got a 2000 extended cab Dakota, 4.7L V-8, flowmasters. I drive a 1992 regular cab full size Chevrolet, 350, minor bolt ons.

He's always bragging about how good his truck runs and how if he ever got behind me he'd "pass me where he caught me", lol. Well, he got behind me, right up on my ass, we both gun it (in our words "Our feet were through the fire walls") from about 55-60 mph roll. We both shut down at about 105 or so. He never gained an inch, I never pulled an inch. I was almost suprised, becuase my truck is a couple hundred pounds heavier and rated about 20 hp less (from the factory). I still rub it in that he couldn't pass me (actually, I say "Man, you couldn't even swing out to try and pass me!")

Then like over a year ago, I had the same thing happen with a 2001 or so extended cab Z-71, only he was able to swing out to try and pass, just couldn't complete it (got to like my back tire and our straight stretch ran out, probably going 85-90). I didnt have any bolt ons at that time, so I think now he probably could'nt even get to my back tire.

Anyways, I very rarely do any street racing (mainly becuase I drive a 4WD truck with no major modifications). Now racing at the track is a different story (just not in the truck)!

One time I pulled up to a red light after leaving work, and it had been a long day so I was in a bit of a hurry to get to my girlfriend's house. As I pulled up to the light I saw a white BMW 325, but had other things on my mind and forgot about it. So when the light turned green, me being in a hurry, I stepped on it kinda hard. A few seconds later I hear a roaring engine and just see this white streak fly by. It was pretty awesome.

I used to have an old 63 Dodge Polara 4 Door "bondo buggy" it was a tan car with red, black, and gray primer sprayed all over, it really did look sad, it had 108K on it's stock 383 and burned 2qts of oil a week, I bolted on a 400 4bbl intake and carb and a set of headman headers and dual exhaust and everythime I got into it it would smoke like the dickens when decellerating, but other that that it ran pretty good, just keep it filled with cheap oil!

One day we (The wife was with me) were toying around with a mid to late 70's Z-28 with 2 teens in it, we pulled up to a light and the guy in the Z pulls up beside me and honks and the passenger rolls down the window and shouts, "Why do you go and do us all a great favor and get that POS off the road!" I looked at him and said "Tell you what, you beat me to the next light (2 blocks away) and I'll let you follow me directly to the closest wrecking yard and I'll leave it and you can drive us home! Deal?" The guy driving says, "You got it asshole, your toast now!" The wife looks at me and said "You better kick his ass good, we don't have another car". The light turned green and we took off, he did get the hole shot but his advantage was very short lived as the old Polara started getting in it's stride and walked right by the Z, I had 2 cars on him by the first block and was still pulling away, I get halfway down the next block and bail out of it. (Of course emitting a smoke screen!) We stopped at the next light and I rolled down the window again and yelled over "Gee, maybe I should be the one following YOU to the wrecking yard!" The wife was rolling she was laughing so hard.

I was driving home from school and this dude in his F-350 turbo diesel work truck tried to keep me from passing him in the other lane...I floored it for like 2 seconds and I blew past him pretty bad.

i pulled up to a newer celica gt-s on the highway at about 80. i looked at him then floored it, but i just walked away, after that i just follwed him going like 110 for a while. ps. what a weird driver

1st kill 1996 chevy ext. cab z-71, we were following behind him he went over 3 times left of center like he was going to pass someone in front of him but nobody was there, i flip on the L.E.Ds and he knows we want to play, he floors it and gets the jump, it takes about that long to get on his ass, he leads us out to a county road outside of town. we hit the twisties at about 90 and the first one he cant keep it on the road due to the previous afternoon sprinkles. he banks it. hooked him up and he later blew a .22

i work at a police dept. on weekends. I am currently CLEET Certified Unarmed Reserve.. meaning im a cop without a gun. so i am always the passenger. the guy was swerving i turned on the cherries and he attempted to elude resulting in him losing control. a push bar is the bar in front of police cars. and "he blew .22"
He was DUI/DWI and his BAC (blood alcohol content) was .22 (legal limit is .08) and i threw in the factory duals and lights and push bar on a 04 crown vic Police Interceptor, just dropping clues to see if someone would catch it.

But i get KILLS all the time. we had a nice one last weekend that we thought was going to get away.
i dont know what the car was but it looked exactly like a supra but it was a lexus. i dont know the model. we were doing 135 on rough roads. we got him though because he got a little way ahead and thought he would turn onto a dirt road. and turn into a buddies driveway. he followed his tire tracks all the way to him. 18 years old and lost his license for 5 years, $1500+ in tickets and additional tow/impound fees

Anyways as for short races. I was at henry's donuts pulling a prank on my friend (long story) And this mid to early 90's jetta pulls into the lot. 18" wheels, huge unpainted front fascia, and a rear panel that looked like it had a skin disease (all the while I was thinking how i'd love to put him in his place in front of his girlfriend). Him, and his girlfriend leave, and I wait for my friend to finish the prank. He comes in and we leave to his house, and I drop him off.

On the way home down the freeway around 1am I see a car in front of me... sure enough its the exact same jetta, but he's the only passenger :disappoin . I pace him around 75mph and he takes off, and by the time he got 2 car lengths I dropped down to 3rd and followed. I start creeping up around 100mph, and then by the time I hit 120mph, I just blew by him. I get 2 car lengths on him, and I figure he knew he was beat so I tap my brake pedal so he knows I'm done, and then went home. It's great to get in a good race before you go to sleep. Too bad his girlfriend wasn't with him.

I beat a VW Golf of some sort. I'll assume it was a VR6.. But no clue. It was pretty quick but on the freeway I walked him fairly easily.

I hate people who debadge their car... I wanna know what I'm toying with. :p

But yeah... it wasn't anything worth posting about... 'cept here.

HAHAH shit I almost choked to death on my starburst chew reading my post...

I was on my way to school in the 03 eclipse GT and I see a porsche cayenne coming up in the lane I need to merge into so I speed up, he sees this and floors it right past me as if I was standing still. I looked at him as he passed and I was all smiles but he just looked over with a 'wtf' look on his face (it was a parent of a younger kid).


A new mustang passed me in a 1 lane road, I tried to speed up so he wouldn't cut me off like I knew he would but he just walked right past me. To add insult to injury once he was ahead of me he slammed on the brakes causing me to have to brake pretty quick and we went down to about 1st gear speeds where he tried to burn out in front of me but it looked as if he bogged the launch and lurched towards the side almost throwing his car off of the road. This was in an area highly concentrated with your stereotypical 'wreckless redneck drivers' in the middle of nowhere. Too bad to see a dumbass beat up on a brand new car but ah well.


Had a run in with my friends black rsx on a number of occasions. His is mtx and mine is atx so it varies from time to time. Usually he beats me because by the time I downshift he's already got a car length on me but I've taken him on a couple of runs.


I'll race another friend with an 03 I-4 accord ex from time to time and I always take him up top but he sticks with me at lower speeds.

raced a friend's jeep v8 and got schooled off of the line but we usually get pretty even at high speeds.

Other than that the small races range from riced out civics to cavaliers and v6 stangs.... Those are about all the eclipse can take.

Just like any other thread I'll leave it open, and I'm sure the others will, as long it stays alive and people keep things civil. If things get out of hand it gets closed just like any other thread. Anyhow, to be on topic I'll post up a recent kill.

Early last week I was on my way to work and running a little behind. I was trying to make a light and missed it. At the light a green Saturn pulls up next to me. He keeps inching forward and looks over at me. Looks like he wants to race. No matter, even though I'm in the Sebring I'm also in a hurry. The light turns green and we both floor it. I easily walk away putting about three car lengths on him before I had to come to my turn.

On a side note I saw something dastardly on my way home the next day. I saw a debadged Evo. You could tell it was one from the side or the front, but from the rear it looked like an OZ Rally Lancer. He had removed all badging that would tell you it was an Evo. Sneaky punk, you're not fooling anyone.

theres a white one around my area that has no wing, and it was debadged. even from the back it doens't look like the rally art version. it has pretty fat tires and its really obvious from the back, also the flared fenders shows alot from behind too.

I think i saw one today... I say think because the hood didn't have the vents like an Evo, but it was swoopy like the Evo.

Although it looked like one from the way the body looked with the little flares. Maybe he swapped on a stock Lancer hood and put on the Lancer Rally Art spoiler.

I was parked two paces from it and coming into the parking lot in my work Van I kept saying to myself... an Evo?

Yeah right. thast just dumb its like me getting a Kia Rio body kit on a supra. well yeah i raced my friend in my uncles 97 Toyota Tercel vs my friends mom Astro AWD. i had his ass 1st , 2nd gear and in 3rd he smoked me then i was about 2 past him in 4 gear but he decided 2 stop. pretty fun night lol.

i raced my best friends modded legacy (I/H/e). I kept up with him until about 100, which was when he shut down.

At the end my nose was about near the crack between the door and the front fender.

not bad for a stock car, eh?

1st: Raced my friends 69 comaro 4 speed auto with a crate 350 in it. From a roll at 40 mph me in 2nd gear 4k rpms. i Honk down and pull hard through secound. halfway through secound his car finally downshifts. By the end of secound i am 1.5 cars ahead and my lead has stopped. I shift into 3rd at 6.2k rpms and he stops my pull dead it is tracks. half way through 3rd he is 2 cars ahead and i am loosing him fast. At the top of third his pull is briefly halted, but he soon shuts down.

2nd: Friends 99 maxima, auto 180 hp. From a 15 mph roll in first at 4k floor it shift to 2nd at 5800 pop the tires loose, and i am pulling on him hard the whole time. Top of third i shut down and i have about a buslength on him.

3rd: My fave race so far this Feb. A kid at my school has a Debadged F-150, It looks just like a lightning except he has 22 inch crome harley davidson rims. Only mods were flowmasters and an intake. From the stop light i get a PERFECT!!!!!111!!!ONE! launch and get a car length on him. halfway through secound i am 1.5 carlengths on him. Halfway through 3rd i shut her down and have 3 carlengths on him. From a roll we were going 40 mph (my fave roll speed 2nd gear 4k) i honk down and we both floor it. i imediately pull a car on him and at 6.2k rpms i shift into third with 1.5 cars on him at about 5k in 3rd i shut down with a solid 2 cars on him.
Greatest thing about the story is this guy thinks his truck is the fastest thing on the planet. Always telling people how fast it is and what he beat. Iceing on the cake is a lowly 5spd tc beat him. He never would of told anyone about it if it wasn't for his friend sitting in the passenger seat. The was a nice buzz at school the next day about how some kid in a "really fast tc" beat "Overstreet's Truck".
Needless to say i was walking tall that day. :)

I smoked a pontaic sunfire at a light in my uncles forester XT. It was like a orange color? The xt is mad fast! pretty good race...Not enough to post tho...I beat him by like 10 lenghts...Bus lenghts...

Earlier today, I was coming home on the freeway, and caught up with this Jetta. It happens to be from S-ville, Dark blue, unpainted body kit, huge wing, rims, and of course the can. I took a run at him and instantly found out that he was all-show-no-go. Take that VW :swear: Damn GLX's...I'll get you back....you'll see.

No offense to VW owners. I just got owned this past weekend by some GLX VR6's. Huuuuuhhh...damn. L8...

I raced my friends 86 Iroc with a 350 and a 700R4 awhile back. I actually managed to keep pace with him. I just let off at 70, since there was traffic ahead.

I would never ever ever street race.








On another note, among my mini not worth mentioning races are the following:

Body kit Integra, this was on the highway. The kid must have been automatic because his exhaust note showed no change of pace when we hit, just very slowly gained. Meanwhile, I dropped to 3rd, and flew past like a banshee.

300zx...This I probally should have made a thread about. I was coming home from a buddies house, and trying to get this foxbody to play. No luck, but as soon as turns, on a rampage behind him comes a 300zx..as he got close to mehe slowed due to coming at a light... we were only ones on road. He stopped alil behind me (im still thinking he is NA at this point). I hear him give alil, very lil rev. His car sounded nice. I rev back. All of the sudden I hear a huge spool and he pulls up right next to me and BOV pop'd my ear drums.I look over guy has to be 30-40. We both take off (my car spins a bit due to this being close to me just getting the car) and good bye he was gone.

Took on some High School punks with a red and silver Astro Van (!), and a yellow Silverado. They were acting all badass ripping through the parking lot until I drove by and spotted them. Astro Van boy took off down the street and I chased, caught him within a few seconds and flew right by him. Yellow Silverado girl didn't put up a fight, so I just did some donuts for a few minutes and drove off.

Kids these days. Sheesh.

Put about 4 car lengths on a GTP last week going down the highway from a 60-110 mph run running @ the stock 4 pound wastegate setting.

ok so im on my way home from work, and ahead of me i see some unfamiliar tail lights moving pretty fast. So i try and catch up, it takes me like 3 mins driving 15MPH over the speed limiter to finally get to the guys bumper. Anways i see its a very well kept Dodge Stealth R/T. I never raced one, so i try to entice him to race, no go, he turns off shortly after. Anways would this car have rapped me?

Lol, my "step" father's Geo Prizm tried to keep up with me last night as I was searching for other racers. The little car didn't have a chance in hell. I lost it going uphill! The Jetta is usually a turtle going uphill!

I killed a RX8 in my Formula a couple weeks ago (it impressed me how good it took off on the line though) and a miati in Z3 don't even know why I raced it but I think it had something to do with old people mistaking my car for one.

it was in the street and ended up on top of my car. by the time i looked at me footometer, i was doing about 19mph. the dog with its 4leg drive was gaining on me at about 22mph. race was over after i ran into another car and ended up on top of it. dont drink and run kids :nono:

honestly, if you guys atually knew any cops. 8 out of 10 are assholes. i know some pretty cool ones. i was talking with a few on cruise night and they wanted to set up a run. they blocked an industrial road and i ran an OHP (Oklahoma Highway Patrol) Camaro on my bike (96 Honda Magna, highly modded) those camaros are insanely fast. i know some that cruise and street race in their personal cars up to 1/2 hour before they go on duty. if there as anyone in Oklahoma around the tulsa area that wants to run a crown vic im me for the small town im in.
P.S. i dont know the top speed of them but i personally have been in one doing 158mph and we slowed to take a turn.

I also have been told by a OHP that he hit 180 in his camaro on the turnpike (its a long toll road, 4-6 lane divided almost completely deserted at night and mostly straight. pretty much an american autobahn)

Man it was so tight. ok here is how it went. Just to let you guys know i am an underground street racer trying to get a job for these clubs we have. we race around town to different places following checkpoints marked by specific graffiti.
So we set it up. i am in my Dodge Viper GT-R Prototype. Im crusin when i get a call from my boss. he says to head down to main street.
we line em up. im agianst 5 other cars. a loutus elise (easy), Astin Martin, Modified cobra, stock Viper, and modified vette. we line them up and i launch like a mofo.
i pass like 3-4 of htem like it was nothing. its me, the cobra, and hte AM. we are neck and neck and we hit this 90 degree turn, i double clutch and hit 2nd and pull out of it. im feeling the vipers power. we hit the interstate and next thing you know the cops are on out asses.
well i know this viper can spank some crown vic so i fllow it and upshift to 6th. im going like 190mph when i het a turn that i wasnt expecting and spin out. the cop nails me and i have to stay there for 3sec before i am allowed to join the race agian....

Floored a 1st Gen Eclipse going to the store about a half hour ago. All he had was a fart can and a really loud friend to back him up. Easy kill.

it rained/snowed tonight. . .no races for the cavy

tonight i had a short but sweet one...

going down a 2 lane road called hillcrest i got stopped at a light beside a newer model gmc hd truck. BIG truck btw... there were like 3 ppl in it. looked like a family or something. the guy driving was just looking casual. i was in a bit of a rush to get home (head hurts even now as i type) so when the light goes green, i give it a little gas. i guess he thought i wanted to race so he hits it. I mean he's like lenghts ahead of me. I go "oh hell no" and catch up with him. i slow to about 35 and throw out a 3. he floors it, i do too. i hear his ROOOOOAAR.. and i'm holding with him pretty good, i mean he's winning of course, but i'm not being passed by blocks. I let off at about 89 or so because there's traffic coming up (and my rotors are pieces of garbage right now) and he cuts me off and flies down the road, almost hitting a taurus ahead of us. I was like "wth" and just turned....

jerk... but i did do pretty well against him..

The newer GM trucks are pretty tough, for a truck. I had a similar run in with one about 2 weeks ago. It was a Chevrolet 2500HD, extended cab, had some kind of exhaust (loud). Anyways, I was in my truck, and we were the first two vehicles in line at a redlight. Now I thought nothing of it becuase I just wasn't looking for a race (mainly becuase I just don't street race, lol) but also becuase we were just setting there, no rev, no inching up, nothing, just settin there. Light turns green, and this guy just takes off like a bat out of hell! So I mash the gas a little (about 3/4ths throttle), and stop his pull (he probably jumped me a good 2 truck lenghts) at around 55, and sort of stayed there untill 70, and I start to catch him but I think he let up there. So I did too, and that was that.

I really wished I would have known he was gonna take off like that! Not so much for actually having a race other then to just beat him off the lights, lol. He didn't give any sign, just nailed it when the light turned green.

Kind of a different subject, but still involves wierd happenings on the road, but don't you just hate it when you are running at highway speeds, on a four-lane, and come up on a car going slower then you, then when you pass them, the speed up?

This happened to me last weekend, and nearly got me a ticket. It was a late model crown vic (not a cop driving this car BTW), and I'd say it was probably doing 55 or so mph, and I was doing 60. Well, I get along side the car, and can tell its speeding up slightly. So, I do the same and increase my speed to 65 mph. I get out about a truck length on the person, and I notice them creeping back up. So, I hit the gas a little, enough to make my truck shift out of OD, and put about a truck and a half on this person, and let up at about 72 or so mph when I see a KSP (Kentucky State Police) coming (this is a really long straight on US 23 in KY). Now the speed limit is only 55 mph, so I was doing enough over for him to pull me. Luckily, he must have not been running radar, becuase he never even hit is brakes (and I didnt either, just let completely off the gas--didn't wnat to hit the brakes and nose dive my truck to draw attention).

And what really made me mad was after that, the Crown Vic faded back behind me, a considerable distance, and never did get even remotely close to me again.

yea, i especially hate it when it's a two lane becoming a one lane and they decide to do that... trapping people is not cool nor fun.

Raced a 528i on my way to work this morning. My lane was ending and he was swerving around people to be in the front at the light. I put a buslength on him, merged and slowed down. He flew past me.

I beat a pontiac. I think it was a crossfire when coming back from seeing a movie and made it up to 100. Then I raced a 240sx which was fun. I didn`t even know he wanted to race at first I was just speeding a little and I had an exaust leak at the time so I guess that got his attention. I just saw him coming up on my ass. I smoked him though as soon as I downshifted. It was funny because my brothers friend was with me and my friend told me he looked scared when we were racing, guess he thought I would crash or something.

Not much of a race but I saw a c5 vette do a nice loittle drift while doing a left turn. I also saw a 350z haulin ballz down the street. I forgot how good those sound. Atleast it will keep the thread alive

I got a couple small fun ones from a few nights ago while driving in my truck. The truck is an 02 Sierra HD 6.0 liter, basically it just looks like a big heavy slow beast. While driving home at 12:30 AM or so this 02+ neon sxt with a pretty cute girl in it starts pacing me, then she flies by me, slows down and I pass her, then flies by again. So the next time she tries to do another fly-by I let her get ahead a bit and I stomp on it and reel her in pretty quick, pass her, then let off, and she does another fly-by...heh. The light ahead turns red and I pull up next to her and just grinned at her, she was not happy about being beat by a a big chevy. As the light turns green we both mash on it and I got a couple truck lengths on her within a few seconds, let off and she passes me, then I reeled her in again, then let off...I do this a few more times up to around 60-70 mph and she just gives up realizing that I'm having way too much fun playing around with her.

The next one occured right after I was done playing around with the girl. Apparently a guy in a lowered isuzu/mistu (couldnt tell which one) pickup was watching the girl and I messing around and wanted a piece of the action(I guess he figured he'd fair better than her). So he pulls up next to me at the red light I was waiting at, I didnt really notice him cause I was messing around with my radio. Light goes green and he guns it, catching me off-gaurd because he gave no indication of wanting to race. He made it to the other side of the intersection before I realized I was being raced(about 3 of his truck lengths), so I floor the 6.0 liter and pull passed him like he was standing still, get about 2 truck lengths ahead doing 50 or so, then let off. I did the same business that I did to the girl before him, just let him pass me, gassed it, let him pass then gassed again up to 70 or so. After that he got the idea. Whats funny is I don't think either of them got the idea that I was just playing with them untill the third of forth time I pass them up...Hehe.

Lesson learned...don't underestimate the giant truck in the lane next to you, especially when you drive a stock 135hp econobox.

new ford f-series truck tried today, ... slowest truck i've ever seen , car and driver had them rated at 20lbs per hp and he tried up to 70mph

...and? I haven't seen many "good" F-Series' for a long time. It's not that much of a shock that it sucks.

My truck comes stock with around 320 hp and around 400 trq. The new hemi's are around one hp per cubic inch.

I've also got one from when my camaro was still running good. My buddy and I were cruising around in my 71 ss about 2 years ago on a very nice Morning in spring. While driving we passed up a couple of kids in a very nice red 70-71 chevelle SS with a rag top. They were from the high school I graduated from (I knew they were from there cause I saw the same car parked in the school's lot a couple days later). The setup couldnt have been more perfect either, two very nice older chevy's from around the same year, two ppl per car, NO ONE on the road but us at like 11:30 on a Sat morn. Both cars were also autos, so we started our power braking when the lights to our side were going yellow. His car started to lurch from the trq, and mine started to howl from the turbo spooling up (yes, a 350 with a turbo charger). The sound from these cars both revving up was great. The light turns green, we both launch, he spun his tires for a bit and I got the hole shot on him. I made it across the intersection before he moved more than a few feet. By this time the turbo was working full force, and I recieved nice solid tire chirps from the TM350 tranny, kicking the back out a bit each shift. At about 60 mph I was bus lengths ahead, I figured he'd but up a little better fight but I was wrong. He proceeded to do a nice ricer fly-by on me, my buddy and I both got a good laugh out of that.

i played with a new model GTP on the freeway today, nothing major, i gave up once he turned into one of those stupid dodge through heavy traffic racers. Those are jsut stupid. Then after i gave up, i saw a early model Explorer follow doing the same thing, i was expecting that thing to flip.

one time a few months ago i saw a viper get on it...not hard...but he took off down the street...that was awesome...another time i was in my old car and saw a nice looking fox body, so i revved up a little and he looked over (i had a 1992 Grand Prix with a DTM-style exhaust on it and a cone filter instead of the factory air box). light turned green, i floored it, spinnin tires a little, and i hear the guy spinnin tires. I hear him shift into second, spinnin them again. I hear him shift into third STILL SPINNIN then after spinnin a lil while in third he just let off and drove normally, as did i (i was obviously a few car lengths ahead since he was spinnin tires so much). that was a fun night...

Another time i was in my GP still, and i saw a late 90s TA with what appeard and sounded to be straight pipes. we were makin a left hand turn and i revved up a little bit. he heard me, looked in his rear view mirror, waited for an opening, and slid through the left turn (it was just a left turn, no crossing lanes of traffic), proceeded to fishtail and take off. I was already out on the road floored and he just walked away real fast (the GP was a slow POS...a 2003 V6 mustang walked right past it one time)

i love messin with the big V8s just to see them take off...:-P

...and? I haven't seen many "good" F-Series' for a long time. It's not that much of a shock that it sucks.

I live in a pretty decrepit area, so any cars here are either piles of shit, or they are really nice. Doesn't seem to be any "in-between" area. The only F-Series trucks that pass through are horrible diesel suckers that do nothing more than make noise at 2 in the morning.

I saw a pretty sweet car at my work...it was an 1980's AMG SL mercedes....I had no idea that AMG even tuned the SL mercedes couples in the 1980's....it had a "6.0" badge on the rear and a license plate frame that said "AMG hammer"....my guess is AMG stroked the 5.5 liter V8 from the 560SL to 6 liters...anyone else seen one of these cars?

Well this isnt a race, but its a good go at my truck.

I went crusing the other night and i could never catch a stop light. so finally i pulledo out on to a rural road and stoped. I reved it up to 4,000 and fethered the clutch out nice and smooth. i counted in my head (not the best way) and i got to 60 in around 7-8sec. not bad IMO. i was really moving up untill about 40mph. i need to perfect mt shift points and get one of thoes G-Force things to tell my my real 0-60 1/4 mile and all that good stuff. you can really feel it when it hits its power ban (3,500-5,500) and its pretty easy to keep it there, its just with these shorter gears it tops 6000RPM in 3rd at like 65-70. which means for a 0-60 i am usually about ready to shift into 4th when i hit 60, most cars and some trucks is a 1-2 shift. oh well. i bet i have some decent 60ft times though. maybe even a halft way decent 1/8 mile (for a truck).
lol, i just got a carbon fiber shift knob to match the interior but it has chrome on it. damn it. i have no chrome on my truck at all except for the bumper (my rims are brushed aluminum) and im not really into corrdinating the exterior/interior. im thinking of gettind some paint and painting the chrome flat black or deep gray to match either the shift boot or the lether on the door panels. maybe ill post some pics so you guys can get a better idea of what i am talking about.

What I want is the nice leather shift knob from a Kouki RX-7 Turbo II to put in the Jetta. I've got the Zenki type in my '88, but it's not as nice.

I was at our local restraunt/bar tonight with my boss and a couple people that come to our restaraunt. They are all NASCAR V8 people and were also drunk as skunks. They also talk a lot of smack about my car being an import and such. You know, errogant A-holes that really don't have a clue. So when leaving, my boss gets it a little with his truck(Dodge Ram 1500 with flows). So I get to about 15mph, push the clutch in a little, rev to about 4.5k and let the clutch out while pressing the gas to the floor. Man the tires spun like hell to aobut 30mph in first. Then I shifted to second and obtained optimal wheelspin. You know, just the right amount of wheelspin with grip to give you one hell of a pull. I was sucked into the seat. 50mph came up pretty quick so I got out of it. It was an awesome feeling like no other. Man I love this car. Once again, a story not worthy of a full thread.

A few weeks ago when the torrents of rain were killing Iowa, I got the Jetta to hydroplane on a bridge because, as usual, I was going too fast. Scared the living shit out of me when the front tires lost it, and the rear started sliding out wide to the left... I regained control a few seconds later, but I can guarantee you I was going granny speed all the way home from then on that night!

Anyways... I raced a 2004 Civic LX today on River Road and beat her about 3/4 of the way down. Nothing to write home about. Saw that '05 Mustang again, but again she didn't bite. DAMN IT!

i smoked a kia sephia today.... idiot was swirving through traffic and almost hit me, so at the light i turned up my system (was louder than his :)) and he got mad and started revving... light turned... let's just say that at the next light (about a mile) i had roasted him.

my friend has a eclipse gs-t, and we were racing this lime green turbo honda civic hatch from streetlight to streetlight on a 3 lane road, when we pull up to a light on both sides of a pontiac gto, so my friend and the guy in the civic, who has air bags and keeps popin up and down, keep reving our engines and the gto isnt showing any signs that hes gonna go with us. The light turns green and my friend and the civic take off, about 5 second later, the gto blows by us while we are flooring it and i almost shit my pants. It was no contest.

I was hydroplaning 75% of my trip...it was like the steering wheel had a mind of it's own...seriously the most scared I've ever been in my entire life, and I've done some pretty stupid stuff.

Had my 2nd race, first loss tonight with my Tiburon. Messed around with a Civic that sounded like it had a fart can and 4 spare tires on. Hit a red light, gunned it when it went green. I jumped ahead and stayed a few feet ahead of him till about 3rd gear. Smashed it into fourth and his ass flew past me and got me by about 1 1/2 car lengths at 75mph. Can we say sleeper?! Fun shit though.

mmm that's a pretty brash statement, considering there are VTEC civics that have 127 hp :screwy: And even an Si would have a problem beating a V-6 tib, hell I think it would be a pretty close race.

Sorry to burst your bubble Jayson, but his 3KGT runs about high 14's stock. Simple bolt-ons could put him pretty even with you, if not better than you granted he may be a good driver. I don't know that. I read your Cardomain page, and according to it, you ran a 14.7 with a near perfect shift .5-something-something. It wouldn't be likely that you could just blow his doors off, but I think it would be a really good race either way.

And Twisted, not all cavy drivers are what you claim them to be. Saying what you did earlier goes to show that you are making 3KGT drivers look like cocky SOB's. Every gender of cars has it's idiots and dumbasses. Civics, Tegs, Cavys, Mustangs, you get the idea. Don't be making such assumptions about all drivers. my tax return gets mailed on march 11th, ive already got my B&M Shiftplus installed and its made a big difference in the car. The smaller pulley and im betting a 13.9-14.2 1320.

Man, I don't know when my check's coming in, but it's going to my "VR6 Turbo Engine" fund ASAP.

IMO anything above 14 sec is not fast...under 16 and ur quick..below 14 and ur fast to me..thats my opinion, deal with it :)

this was a while back b-4 the hit and run in the srt-4,my brother told me to tail him to a speed shop so i can take him home after we leave his car to be worked on. so im tailing his sti nicely on the turnpike and i see theres a green diamante vr-4 that shoots by me and gets my bro's attention so my bro goes at it and didnt think much of it until they started to get a bus lengh on me then i punched it to catch up. and so i was about 1 1/2 cars behind my bro again and i see the diamante is still pestering him and i get a quick phone call from my bro saying " cacth me if you can !" Klick! and my bro's sti takes off with mad power that i leaves me and my buddy in shock and the diamante next to me, so i punch it to catch up again to my bro and on my right side i see a regular looking but ricey cavalier jumping in also. but his or should i say her efforts were thwarted when me and the diamante picked up speed. and when i got to 105 the diamante just started to shut-off. and so did i because i saw my bro getting off at the exit and so i followed him off. and the diamante tryed to pull a ricer fly by and he notice that we got off on the exit real cool race for my bro.

that is a cool race, id love to se a SRT4 and an STi going at it.

Too bad you didn't meet up with a galant vr-4 :naughty: Any year of the galant vr-4 is badass, but I think they only had them in the us for two years in 91' and 92' when they had the 2.0 liter turbocharged engine, but still awd I believe. If you got one of those in the U.S. it would be a serious sleeper.

This isn't really racing news, but I'm getting a 1989 Civic with a B16A engine in a few days for free!

I had a go with a Saturn Vue on the way to school. I was running a little late and the lane I was in ended about 70 ft after the intersection we lined up at. The Vue kept inching up the whole time the light was red but I easily got in front after the intersection with plenty of room, so as not to cut anyone off.

Make that kill #1 for the Taurus.

I watched a Tiburon go speeding by and passing a suburban through a turn lane..then the SUV caught the Tibby and passed it. then a civic decided to race me without me knowing. He had atleast a car length headstart and i caught him in no time.

I raced my roommate today. I have a 1972 Cutlass with a built 455 Olds/TH-400 auto (just installed this weekend, fun project), he has a 1994 Ford Ranger V6.

He didn't believe my car was fast because the exterior is rather rusty, the interior is torn up, and it is missing the grille. Well, he was desperately wrong.

From the light, rolled on the throttle to avoid spinning, and finally hit full throttle at around 35 mph. Big mistake, hit a wet patch of concrete and the whole back end broke loose. Had to pedal it but ended up winning no problem.

I just got the car, and never realized just how fast a 3800 lb car with a 350 hp/450+ ft/lb torque motor could be! As soon as the motor hits 3000 rpm the torque comes on so strong the tires go up into clouds of smoke. So bad for the environment, but so cool!

My best race was a short one, but fun.

Yellow Z06 with at least exhaust. Sounded mean. Pulled up next to him, and we both were turning left, double turn lane. I made sure to compliment his car, as it did sound mean.
We both got around the corner, and kinda looked at each other. I hit it right about the same time he did. Neither of us was pulling. Ran doors to about 60. Let off, and slowed way down. He asked me what I had done. I told him intake and exhaust. Which at the time, was true. I hadn't installed the cam yet.
So, we are going about 15 MPH, and I give it the 3 honks. I hit it a touch late, so he pulled me about 1/2 car, then wasn't pulling anymore. Ran from 15 to about 60. Slowed back down, and ran one more time. This time, I screwed up pretty bad. I delayed a ton on the pedal. He got a great jump off the horn, and took off. Before I got into my RPM range, he already had over a car on me. So I let off quick.
He waved, as did I, and we went on our ways.

I am still looking for this car, I want to try him with the cam in.

Doubt it...a VTEC civ would be faster than ur Hyundai w/ BPU's maybe w/o.

I will agree that a VTEC Civ would be a pretty even match or even bold enough to give my car a slight advantage. But for me having the lead I did, and as fast as he shot in front of me, theres no way he could have been stock or close to it. Sorry for the late reply, been off a couple days, but I gotta put in some defense for my baby. :)

I messed with a newer Mustang GT today. I have to admit, this one looked good. Stock, but this guy must take very good care of it. Not a spot of dirt or a scratch on it.

Anyways, I was on my way home from a job interview. I was in town for the first time in a while so I really wanted someone to at least mess with. So I just kept lookin around on the way out of town. Low and behold, a really nice (03'ish) Mustang GT was ahead. As traffic came to a rest at the light, I ended up right beside him. I just look over at him, and him at me. We look away and accelerate normally with traffic. As the traffic ahead got ahead of us a little ways, he pulled ahead a little. I just gave it a little gas, enough to make like 10in HG vacuum and shifted with my right fender right next to him. His windows were down and my BOV is to atmosphere. I guess he got the hint because he slowed down to get next to me. I let of the gas once again to sound my Greddy type S. He gassed it pretty good. The car squatted pretty well. There was quite a bit of traffic, so we didn't do anything dumb. I had a clear lane in front of me so I made about 5psi and put a few cars on him pretty quick. Then I looked back to see all the cars in front of him turn. I let off the gas and went down to about 35mph(SL was 45) and wait for him. So what does this douche do? He turns. I couldn't believe it. I wasn't but 6 cars up. He could have at least followed for a block or two. Jeez. I really want to race a GT too.

i played around with a 2000ish Camaro SS earlier...he was behind me at a light and there was a couple cars ahead of me, so i got on it kind of hard, but not too hard, and so did he. Next light, same thing. Third light, i looked in my mirror and i saw his back end get a lil loose when he took off, so i knew if we got a chance to open up that he'd be game.

A little farther down the road i saw him get in the turn lane from behind me, so i get over as well (its a 2-lane turn lane) and he pulls up next to me at the front of the line. Light turns green and he takes off kind of slow, so i take off somewhat quickly, not enough to break loose or anything, and take first up to about 4500 rpm (~6K rpm redline on the tach) and shift hard to second makin the left turn.

i spin tires quite a bit, actually makin me slide to the right even tho i'm turnin left, then i let off and shift into third and keep acceleratin, but not hard. Next thing i kno, the camaro just flies by me. it was the factory exhaust since it was quiet...i heard his engine over his exhaust...but we were comin up on traffic so he had to slam on the brakes...he was probably doin 60 while i was doin like 40ish.

few days ago while driving my gf back from the airport: we had stopped to put our parkin ticket in the machine, our boom lifts and the guy next to us squeeks his wheels as he leaves,
he happend to be driving a riced out lancer with PHAT body kit and tin can exhauste, even had a nice large evolution sticker slapped on the back.

so i decide to show him the error of his ways, flaw it passed him and slow down so he catches up, he honks down and then flaws it, i let him go for a second then hit the gas in about 2 more seconds i have passed him again. i slow down and he slaps himself in the face with the stereotype again with a good old ricer fly-by, as he passes i hit it again and by 130 (kph) iv passes him a 3rd time.

not a good race but it was funnier than most :)

My story it pretty short as well, I was driving home last friday at like 2am after a night of the driving range then wings with the guys...I was at a red light with a guy who had a newer Mistibishi Eclipse...I didnt even look at him and didn't know he wanted to race, all I saw from his car was that it didnt have the V6 emblem on it, makiing it extremely slow....on the green her goes for it and im just shocked he wanted to show me up...I hit the gas pertty hard and let loose...bad shift into second...bad shift into third and I caught up and passed him going into 4th...by 5th gear in doing about 130km and I let off the gas and take it easy as he does the usual ricer fly-by while giving me the finger and (I think) trying to powerslide his fwd car around a right hand turn...

I laughed thinking that if he actually raced a real racer it would have been ugly

I had an interesting night last night. I saw a focus almost identical to mine. i never really got him to actually race though, i would just fly by and try to provoke him... try to get him to pull up to a light beside me, but he would then just fly by me again, so i chased him, but he ditched me, catching a right hand turn. i wanted to know what his car could do, it looked like an 03 or 04, and it would be an interesting match between the Zetec and Duratec engines.

I then got challenged by an older, medium size dodge truck with a V8 in it. you know, one of those beater trucks with a smaller muscle car engine in it. we burned tires next to each other for a good hundred feet and came out even after a few stoplights, with him shutting down earlier, so it was hard to tell who won. didn't really matter, it was a good race.

eh, I had fun the other night trying to keep up with a mustang gt in my jetta vr6...

good death I think, at least I kinda kept up he only beat me by a car and a half

Raced my buddies 97 4 speed auto gt mustang. We were on the freway and stopped next to each other on a two lane part of the road where it was didvided from the other side. I start by launching first since no of us were making any gestures to signal an official start. It was for fun anyways.

I get an instant car length because of my early jump. My car is just spinning so I let back off a bit around 5k to regain some traction then I get back up to about 6800 and I shift, once again sending my tired tires into a short spin. He got a late start but when he finally took off he stood even with my headstart at a car car and a half back. After 2nd though his mustang didn't pull anymore. I took it all the way up to 90mph, and I swear I gained atleast half a car on him.

After we got to his house he makes the usual excuse that his car didn't hook up at all (His mustang has bfgoodwrich traction t/a's and I know it wont roast the tires THAT bad) Even though he says he didn't hook up (like my front wheel drive se-r with bald tires really did :disappoin ) He wouldn't get into conversation of how he couldn't pass me after 30mph. I think his mustang could get me off the line, but I'm possitive I could could pull on him, and eventually pass him in a race to 100mph. We'll evetually get a real race, and then I'll post it.

I was cruising around in my '72 yesterday to go get some grub, lo and behold I am sitting a stoplight when a lowered white Del Sol with a black hood comes up behind me and stops REALLY close.

Sorta pissed me off when the guy revved his motor and it sounded like crap.

So, when the light turned I mashed it HARD and put a huge cloud of smoke and 2 black stripes right in front of his face. He promptly took a right turn after getting the smoke treatment, seemed a little freaked out.

There ain't nothing like the sound of a 455 through 2-in headers and 2.5 dual out the back, thumpa-thumpa-thumpa goes the lopey exhaust.

lost to a turbo'd Jetta, again. at least he provoked me instead of me provoking him. i know what i can handle and i wont embarrass myself by picking cars to race that i know will stomp me, but if they want to see what i've got, i'll be more than happy to see what they've got.

saw a ghetto-riced late nineties Neon with a HUGE wing. like he wanted to fly... with spray paint looking white paint. he was making a U turn and i was waiting to go straight, and he straight up broke his neck looking at my car.

Hello vtec!! goodbye civic!!shifted to 4th... got to the top of the gear and i could still hear him fighting to keep up about 2 cars back... i clearly stomped him and slowed down to a normal speed... only to have him blow by like he is still trying to race, with his finger out the window. i was like... "uhhh... what the fuck was that"... thats the attitude that makes me wanna smack every riced out idiot that i see.

I pick all the wrong cars to race. here I am on the highway going 85 and faster, racing a totally sleeping sentra. Next thing I know I hear a loud sound from his car and away he goes. Damn nitrous. I saw the funniest thing last night. ok i was driving with my buddy down the same street where i saw the people with blue hair.and im crusing then i my rear view i see some head lights comming up fast so i pay no attention and a nissan xterra zooms by me like at 90 or something . and im like "damn hes in a hurry". and then about 3 sec later i hear a fart can in the distance going at full bore. then i seen the fart can's head lights then an RSX body kitted and rimmed up shot by me. so we make it to the light and the guy in the xterra give the guy in the rsx a thumbs up with his girlfriend and he returned it with a middle finger. and the rsx guy looks at me and revs it at me and sees that im still laughing my ass off from his previous race. and he yells at me. "that pos neon has got nothing on me. what do you think you are with that big wing ? an SRT-4 or something ha! thats a regular ass Neon huh!" so i just politly rev back at him letting hear the engine.then he jsut rolls his window up and turns right. the guy in the xterra started to cry from laughing. and he tells me he's been racing that guy from about 2 miles back and he always has an excuse of why he lost and that he can still beat him from the next lauch. i think if it was a type s i would have been in a tight squeeze because those are alot harder to beat then regular ones. the guy prolly had a regular one. ohh yeah the SRT-4 is Back in Action

Well, i wouldn't say that. We don't know anything about the car other than it is a GTI with 360 whp. What if the car was just a chasey a roll cage and those plastic body's they put on drag cars. that makes it what (rough guess) 1800 pounds? add street tires to the equation to explain a loss of traction and its possible. Or pink elephants came from the sky and accelerated his car to 160 mph on the quarter. Or he could have slicks and was real slow on the reaction time. That happened to a friend of mine's dad, he has a steptronic M3 and accidently put it into reverse rather then launch mode and ran a 17 secound quarter at 110 mph.

Personally i am going with the pink elephants theory.

of course it should and that IS300 in there is dynoed for like 500+ whp and 466 ftlbs of torque. i will see if i can find a link to the vids when i get home.

Dunno if u saw this part, but my fave was they did a then and now. They showed a Z28 getten beat by the IS300 then they showed him 3 months l8er with a new 100 shot of nos along with some bolt ons and it rapes the crap outa the IS300. Even though it was from a stop.

Yeah, I have a video of a jackson s/c'd integra GSR beating an LS1 camaro...only problem I have with those kinds of races is the whole time I'm thinking "man, that dude probably put 7 or 8 grand in his car just to beat a STOCK Z28 camaro".

I was on my way home from the chiropractor last night. I was at a light to get onto the freeway. It is a two lane and a Honda Prelude pulls up. It was and early 90s Lude. Anyhow, he kept inching up so I figured he was going to take off, sure enough he did, I could tell by the squealing tires. I floored it and he had the lead on me at first and then I started to gain on him. Also, too bad for him, the turn onto the onramp in pretty sharp and he had to slow down while I just kept it floored. After that he just gave up.

Not much of a kill, but then again, the Sebring isn't much of a fast car but it sure can hold the road.

Last Sunday, I made the usual weekly run to Ames to stock up on shit. That's about a 45 minute drive down I35 both ways in heavy traffic. Anyways, I had a jolly good time opening her up on the journey, and I killed just about everything that crept up on me...

I had a real good run-in with a Mazda RX-8, and I was actually hanging on his tail, but my exit came up and he took off as I hit the brakes to take the turn.

In town, as I was about to leave the mall, a nice new red GTO came up on me and did a fly-by. We hit a red light, and he ended up getting caught in traffic in the other lane while I just sped off.

Today, we're facing the aftermath of a minor snowstorm, so I'm using that as an excuse to play the Chaos Theory demo all day. Screw racing today! It's cold! :)

yeah well...i dont know anything about that gti besides the fact that i was reading eurotuner and it was inthere. it ran a 13sec 1/4 @ 160 something. i dont recall exactly...but thats what i read.

Had a coupla quick kills tonight. We went to go see Constantine (Go see it now. I order you! Bad Ass Movie), and on the way up, decide to make a quick run down the strip. We dont see anythign for the most part, till we pull in behind a red Civic with a can and a 'vtec' badge and a Focus, debadged, but the two door wagon kind. I'm not gonna say it was an SVT, but the wheels looked like the SVT ones. Anyway, they are throwin revs up at each other, and when the light goes green, they both take off. I let them get a full two lengths, before punching it, and I walk up on both of them fast, and pop in behind the Focus (it was tail to nose with the Civic), right next to the Civ. The guy in teh Civic does a double take, but the Focus turns. I slow down with the hope that I'll get the light with the Civic, but it turns green, and he goes for the fly by. I let him get his nose to my door, before I get on it again, and hold him there. My freind looks over, waves at the guy, then I punch it, and we take off, and pretty much walk away from the Civic.

Next kill, we were comming back from the movie, and we were gettin on the high way when what I think was a Nissan of some sort with a fart can and a 'custom import' or some such nonesense sticker on the side skirt pulls next to us. I tap it down into third, get the tach spike, and the engine gets quite a bit louder. He punches it, I let him get up by a nose, then jump it, and walk away up to 100. I actually slowed down to 65 (5 under the limit), and moved into his lane, and he still wouldnt catch up to me...I just wanted to give the guy a thumbs up.

Ah many times have I just floored it coming out of that exit. Same with the University Exit coming out of Orem going north. I always do. Sometimes I catch a quick little race there but nothing special. Mostly it's just seeing who gets cut off when the two lanes end and come into the freeway. L8...

The other morning on the road to my high school, approximately 1/4mile before. I came up to the last light before the school. I was in my mom's SC300. I pulled away normally, and I heard a revving beside me. It was a dark red late model Dodge Neon base. He had difficulty keeping up when I was just driving normally but I just said **** it, and I gunned it. The SC300 went to 2nd, and it just pulled away. I put 3 or 4 car lengths on the poor Neon, and then I had to slow down for the turn lane. Its kind of a boring kill but I take what I can get.

It's in the shop getting an engine rebuild and a few performance parts installed. I didn't even want to try putting stress on an engine with 175,000 on the clock. Don't worry, it'll be causing terror on the streets soon enough.

Hahaha I can remember when some chick and all of her ugly friends tried to jump me in her beat up Neon when I passed them on the highway. This was in Summer '04 when I just moved here, so nobody knew about me yet. This was also when the Jetta was running stock with atx. I still beat her pretty easily.

They've got some power. And to be correct, its not a Neon, it's simply an SRT-4. Neon has an image Dodge doesnt want the SRT-4 to have. I really dont know if they sell well, but Ive seen a few around Minneapolis. But many more Evo's and STi's here.

Last night a friend and I went out in the SC300. We raced a Nissan 200sx with 3 kids in it. 2 rolling races, and then a race from a ligbt. Just to give you how an idea of how bad it was; from the light we immediately pulled away and left the 200sx 3-5 car lengths back by the time we hit 50.

We then raced an early '90s Audi sedan from a roll at around 45mph. Similar results as the previous race. Nothing exciting.

Finally we raced a 1990circa Accord. It was about what you would expect. We raped it.

I wish we had faster cars around here. I'm buying a 300zxtt and thats only going to make it worse. Any guys in the twin cities wanna race?

How much power do they kick out? All I really notice on those things is a more aggressive body kit and a louder exhaust.

It'd probably beat the Jetta, though. I only have around 120hp with the shit I have on it and it's a slug to get up to speed. Just gotta wait until the RX-7 is finished... just another few weeks to go!

This is the second time I've heard people say that the srt-4 is faster then the viper. I explain that the viper is rear wheel drive with twice the torque, and horsepower but they refused to believe me. Im not saying you twisted are the same, but I don't see where people are getting their info. I came very close to calling my brother out that night, to show them what a viper could do. It doesn't matter they'll (ricers) make excuses why they lost by several hundred car lengths, and they probably would even refuse to race it. Once again I'm not saying your the same I'm just venting. :smile:

I beat a SRT-4 that was modded. Ran from 20-60.
Man, little fucking car was fast. I was barely pulling him. Didn't get much chance to get into the LS1's range (top end) but he was right there. Pulled him hard for a brief nano-second, then he hit boost, and was almost dead even. I had a slight pull on him.
He was running 17.5 PSI at the time. I try not to use this excuse, but if we had raced at sea level, I would have walked him.

Wouldn't sea level benefit him just as much? I'm just asking because I don't see how that would work unless you were carb'd. Maybe Im wrong school me if you will. What temp was it outside? He could probably make the same arguement if was warm. Turbocharged cars love teh cold air.

He would gain a little, but I would gain a bunch. Sea level would probably bump him into the low 13's, and probably bump me into the mid-high 12's.
It was night in autumn. Probably 40-45 degrees outside.
We run in very thin air here. Turbo helps compress that air, thus causing less loss than a N/A car. Not sure of why exactly, I just know I am slow here.

Met at Wal-mart again, a lot more cars this time...went to "the spot", some guy got a phone call said his friend was pulled over a couple miles from where we were by 3 cops asking them if they were going to the street races...an auto Z28 and that swapped firebird raced twice, Z28 won both times, then it was high time we left before the cops came...I met up with the guy with the Tsi that I raced last week and a couple of other guys and just shot the shit for 15 minutes and then we all went home....laaaaaaame, fucking cops have nothing better to do around here.

Shit if it could pull the LS1, I'm not so sure about putting the RX-7 up against one...

The car had 188rwhp stock when I got it, but I swapped in a '91 turbo motor for 200, and then with all the extra mods I put on her she should push out about 230 ponies at normal boost.

It might stack up well against SRT-4, but maybe not.

The 04 Srt-4 is rated at 230 bhp and 250ftlbs of torque. It dynos for roughly 225 hp at the wheels and 240ftlbs of torque at the wheels. It weighs roughly 2800-2900 pounds depending if u have the moon roof or not. Dodge is a lil off with the ratings but hey, what ever keeps my insurance lower. :)

I think your RX-7 with 230 bhp would prolly beat an srt-4 from a roll, not sure though cause i don't know how much yah weigh or your whp. From a dig u will dominate an Srt-4 if u hook up well.

P.S. if u don believe me on the dyno for a stock srt-4 i can allways show u some dyno sheets i have seen.

fc rx7 weight varies from 2600 (86-88 base models) to 3000 (late model convertibles).

Hmm, Sounds like a drivers Race then cause the Srt-4 has some very nice top end.

Does that mean rx-7s are not great from a dig? Only thing i really know about them is they are 1.3's and rotoray. I know almost nothing about them i don't even know standered hp and tq numbers for the most part. I hope some day i will see a nice lil rx-7 all alone on the road. :)

I would suspect the lack of torque to be a killer for RX-7's in a stop light race.

I toyed around with a 96' or so mustang GT hardtop AUTO. this one didn't seem as fast as my friends. We started out at 60ish, and I didn't even have to downshift into 3rd to keep up with him. I asctually had to back off around 80mph because I was pullin on him. I will get a mustang GT kill eventually trust me. I'm almost possitive it was a GT because it had the dual exhaust/bumper with "Mustang GT" on it, Disc brakes, and I kill V6's. its just a matter of time before I race him for real. I'd hate to see a repeat of what happened with my buddies race though :disappoin

I raced a 98ish VW GTI from a light. He revved at me as I pulled up and was looking at me, so I decided to go for it. End of first he was a nose ahead, end of 2nd he was half a car ahead, and I shut it down at 130km/h in 3rd because of the location and he just kept on going. So he ended up beating me by about a car length. I was surprised though, I expect a GTI to rape my Echo hatchback. Maybe I am just a better driver.

Took my car over to the local exhaust shop to get a 3" dump added so the exhaust was finding its way to the ground, instead of straight out the y-pipe halfway under the car.

Anyways, I got in a VERY short run with a newer blue Mustang GT. It sounded awesome, but didn't have much behind it, so probably just exhaust as mods. We got stuck at a light a couple cars back. We both kinda took off slow so that traffic ahead would move forward. Got enough run to run up to maybe 70 from about 30. I hesitated on hitting the gas on purpose. No honks, he just went WOT on me. He jumped, I waited just a half a second, and also went WOT. By 65-70 I had almost two cars on him. He gave me a thumbs up, and turned off the road.

SRT-4s are quick. But very over rated. This asshole who lives around here has a modded SRT-4..I know he has the mopar BOV..and he doesn't have any exhaust tips..but anyway. I pulled up to him back in the day and he said SRT-4s run low 13s stock. :rolleyes: Awhile back I lined up next to him while he was stock and he said I was slow..so we raced and I beat him with him at my quarter panels. Then he kept talking shit. So whatever. Then I raced him the other night with his mods..and we ran dead even from 20mph up to 80mph..I let off because we were coming up on a car that was in his lane..so it'd be dumb if I kept going since he couldn't. So he yelled out his window "YOU'RE SLOW" and swirved around the car and kept going. What a loser. I guess that means GT mustangs are low 13 second cars stock? Haha...fucking idiot.

SRT4? yeah i raced one, but only because non of my other friends would, i had it at my rear bumper through first and second gear, then when i shifted into third he starts flying up, i'm thinking i took him that far only cuz i could launch better, basically the same as a mildly modded 2g eclipse turbo (I/E/BOV)

yeah i saw a SRt4 runing at the track last time i was their. Not that impressive really. Low 15's to mid 14's.

Low 15s, couldn't drive. Mid 14s, average, low 14s, decent, high 13s, very good driver. With them cars..it's all in the launch. That's why most of the time they're trying me from a roll. :)

I've always thought the SRT4s were kinda over rated...and ugly. Also, raced a silver GT stang the other day, mid 90s model, with a vanity plate that read "Voight". Guy looked like a total sleaze ball (long dreasy lookin hair, silver chain on the neck...yo dude, its 2005, not 1985). Anyways, I thought I would do better since I took the GT the other night. He took me by about a length and a 1/4, I didnt really launch, I think I woulda done better if I did.

Really? The other night, I was about to push an 9 flat, but I braked to much comming out of the final turn, and off tracked, and took forever to re track.

well i mean only in the license tests (the 2nd to last one in IA license) cuz its 10 mins and you have to start all over if you go off once.
