I have been working on my e-150 for some time now, and i have ran into a problem with it stalling when i try to push on the gas. It runs fine idleing, but you try to get it over 25 and it bogs down till it dies. I have replaced all my fuel lines, fuel filter, and the fuel pump(Manual). It is running a 302 V8 in it. I am thinking that i might have a defective shaft pumping the fuel pump, and i cant think of anything else. If anyone has any insight, please let me know.

take fuel line off carb and put it in a coffee can have a helper crank engine over , make sure you pull coil wire first. the coffee can should fill within a minit. that will tell you if its the shaft pump or filter. if it does fill coffee can its a carb problem, maybe float sticking, i would saw thats your problem.

Be sure your exhaust system is clear, had a '72 chevy once that had a double wall lead pipe, inside part collapsed and restricted exhaust, but outside looked normal, couldn't get over 30 MPH. Also be sure the dist cap and rotor are good. When cap gets old, gets hairline cracks, lets moisture in, and crossfires, but then usually won't run at all. Huey286
