4" X 6" Replacement Platedtk69 06-28-2001, 12:12 PM Hey, does anyone know if a plate is made that will convert the original 4" X 6" plate in the p10 to a 5 1/4" or 6 1/2" plate. If anyone has any idea's, please let me know. Otherwise I'm going to have the fabricate my own out of fiberglass, but that's so messy. Thanks, Chris MauiBlueGRide 06-28-2001, 03:14 PM I dont think that it's possible to get either one of those size speakers in that size hole without some major mods - however lots of companies make a plate speaker with say a 3.5" speaker or 4" speaker and a like 1.25" tweeter that is removable and mountable elsewhere.... you could try that.... The pioneers I had in my buick years ago sounded pretty good - however don't expect much outta a 4x6 lol..... I'm not familiar with the older G's maybe you can cut up some stuff and get a decent sized driver in there.... Best of luck. Chris Grunter 06-28-2001, 08:27 PM When i first put 5 1/4 in the front doors of my p10 i made a plate out of 12mm custom wood (mdf), and depending on the depth of the speaker youi may have to cut the back out of the speaker mounting thingy (black plastic) But now i have made pods for the speakers(lot nicer) Cheers Grunter drockg20 06-29-2001, 01:19 AM I have p10 with use to have 4 x 6 stock compoents, yet now i have Mb Quarts 5 1/4 in the door and the 1'' tweeter in stock front pillar mount. You are not going to find 4 x 6 componets set up. Never the less Sound Advice charged me $ 30 too make holes bigger to put 5 1/4. This is your best bet. drockg20 06-29-2001, 01:21 AM also i did not need to make custom rings they fit perfect. I had them prfessional done. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
