Yesterday, while driving at 70 mph, the engine in my 96 intrepid quit. the cruise control, oil pressure and check engine lights were all on. i pulled over and turned off the ignition. i tried starting it and the starter cranked normally, but there was no ignition. after about ten minutes and a few more tries it finally started. the air bag light came on and stayed on for the two mile drive home. today, no lights are on and the car seems fine. i got the diagnostic code number 11 - No crank reference signal detected during engine cranking. Check the circuit between the crankshaft position sensor and the PCM. does anyone know where this circuit is and how easy it is to check to see if it's working?

thanks

code 11 has several other meanings in 1996.......and reading the P codes with an OBD2 code reader details the differences . However, your symptoms are consistent with your interpretation.

THe body control module is inside the car, passenger side, hidden behind plastic molding ahead of front foor.
I'd check crank sensor and connector first....

..DIsregard the info about the body control module: while the location is OK, I had misread the drawings so the BCM is not involved in this sensor.
