i posted awhile back that i was having a battery drain in my 85 lesabre. i hadnt had any time until yesterday to work on it some more. i hooked up a test light between the neg. cable and the neg. post and proceeded to remove fuses, the light ONLY comes on when i have the dome-ctsy light fuse removed. so i figured thats the problem, ill just leave it out. plugged in the battery and let the car sit overnight. well i went out to check the voltage on the battery and it had gone down from 12.3 to 12.1 overnight. ahhhhhh how do i fix this lol. thanks

With the dome light fuse removed (the test light should be on), try removing other fuses. The one that makes the test light turn off again is likely the source of the problem. Light on = power draw. You may have to remove all the fuses and put them back in one at a time to isolate multiple draws.

Okay. You can try taking out the bulbs one at a time to see which one isn't turning off, or some other weird issue. If you pull all the lights out, and there is still a power draw, there is a short in the line somewhere, its just a matter of finding it.
As for the .2v drop on the battery, that might just be the stereo. It retains the time overnight, so it is possible it just draws that much from the battery. My dads '02 Yukon sat for 3 months, and the battery died, but that might have had a lot to do with the weather.

A volt drop of 12.3 to 12.1 doesn't seem like too much of a drop over night, especially if it is cold out. Some of the equipment around here won't start when its cold, but a few days later, when it gets up in the mid to high 20's, it will start just fine. Are you sure the battery is good? It seems like whenever I have a battery draining down, they are just giving up.
