Mounts, O2 Sensors, CV Jointsjasmath 02-05-2005, 10:17 PM OK, Here goes. I bought my '95 last July. Since then I've had the fuel rails replaced (should have been under recall but the GM dealer wouldn't say and I didn't know), the radiator pulled and vatted, replaced the thermostat, put TWO new A/C compressors in, replaced the front rotors and seem to have not spent more than a couple of weeks without having to put the car in the shop. I now have the "check engine" light lit constantly which has been diagnosed as O2 sensors, a hard vibration which appeears to be coming from the right front and which I assume is the CV joint, and have been told the Motor mounts are extremely worn out, but haven't failed yet. I am wondering 1)what sequence anyone would reccommend for the fixes, as they will probably have to happen on a once a month basis, 2) Does anyone know if you can get mounts from anyone besides a dealer to the tune of around 800 bucks and 3) is there an online repair manual that might help me locate the parts and techniques to replace some of these parts so I can at least do the repairs I can do on my on own by myself. I love the look and feel of this car, and I'm not really in the position to dump it, but I have to find a more econimcal way to fix it other than taking it to a garage every time I have an issue. I've been reading this forum for a a while but this is my first post. Thanks for all the help you all have already been and any help you can offer in the future. j2hott23 02-06-2005, 12:12 AM I Had to replace all three of my mounts last year so I know the feeling. The good news is that I only payed 412.94 for all three brand new from the dealer mounts and not 800.00 from my local dealer. Here is a site you can go to for them (http://www.worldparts.com/vandevereoldsmobile/). When you go there just do a part request and they will contact you. Trust me I think this is the cheapest you are going to find the mounts for in brand new condition. Good luck P.S. if you want to see a copy of my invoice for this I will gladly show you chris_fit 02-06-2005, 11:54 PM I Had to replace all three of my mounts last year so I know the feeling. The labor on these guys is really expensive too. j2hott23 02-07-2005, 10:19 AM Did you put them in yourself? The labor on these guys is really expensive too. No I had a local shop do it because I was getting a new engine put in, so they only charged me for the engine work. jasmath 02-07-2005, 08:09 PM Thanks for the info and the link. Now if I can only find a volunteer to hold the engine up while I replace the mounts vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
