key will not turn

2002 s-10 - backed in the shed, put in park, turned key off and removed it. no prior problems - tires not 100% stright but close. went out to go to store and key will not turn - rocked truck while trying to turn key and jiggled shifter whike tryingg to turn key - no luck

Ideas?

Dude happens at my work all the time. More on fords and dodge products than chevys. like you said jiggle the shifter. try the steering wheel. and try to move the key the opposite way while you jiggle the steering wheel. thats usually it. well hopefully you get it.

just got it to work but had to REALLLLLY tug the shifter but it works - - - -Thanks

remember, a tug on the shifter or wheel is fine, not thinking about it and tryen to force the key is very bad, it can snap and then its more work then you want to know
