Does anyone know the torque specs for the heads of an 89 chevy s10 4.3L?

According to the Haynes manual I have it says 65 ft lbs. Suggests 25 lbs 1st in sequence, then 45lbs and then 65 lbs. I checked in my 93's GM manual and it also says 65 lbs. States that permatex #2 should be used on the threads when installing. Although the book does not state it, I have heard that it is best to replace head bolts with new ones when taking heads off. Unsure if this is absolutley true or not.

I would replace the head bolts, because I know on some engines, you are supposed to "strech" the bolts when you install them (put them to the right torque, then more), I guess that is the best way I can think of to put it right now...

when replacing head gaskets: steel head you can use the same bolts unless they are the oem bolts, otherwise on a stock motor you can use the same ones just go one foot pound more on the the last tightening step. Alum heads yous must use new bolts anytime you remove the heads.

one other thing don't just start tightening the bolts with those torq specs unless you have the tightening sequence
