I hope someone can help me identify the source of a small drip. My Yukon will leave a small puddle overnight of what appears to be water. It doesn't have any smell or appearance of containing anti-freeze, and smells almost like exhaust condensation. It appears that the source is a round plug on the bottom of the engine just above the oil filter. This plug has a red electrical connector attached to it. Could someone advise me of what this connector might be. I can't locate it in my Haynes manual. Again the puzzling thing is that it doesn't smell of anti-freeze. Many thanks in advance.

Hi,
my 95 Suburban had a flange coming out of the lower side of the engine and the oil filter was screwed up into that.
Is your oil filter screwed into the side or up into a flange?
Is the sensor on the flange or the engine case?
I presume that you are sure that is is not oil coming out. The engine oil pressure sensor is there on the newer engines.
Have you disconnected the sensor wire to see, what info you are not getting anymore?

I am sorry that I am not much of a help.
Take care, Eggert :bananasmi

Is there a wire coming from the connector?

Might be the sending unit for the temp

Don't be upset here because I'm just covering all the bases. Could the fluid be from your AC system. I know when I have the automatic climate control system on whether it is hot or cold outside the AC usually leaves a little water under my truck after long uses.
