I have a 93 as well and the relay is in the engine compartment (drivers side) next to the master cylinder; should be the the left of it. Its a little black square box. That's all I can tell you, but I really dont know if thats the problem. Usually the thing goes out and the pump wont start but not the way it works for you. Good Luck!

maybe a bad ground someplace. try the relay first, if that doesnt work, get a tester and happy hunting :)

I also tried replacing the ignition switch and that did no good I looked near the master cylinder and didn't see any relays is it under a cover?

it might be in the fuse block, or it might be on a framerail near the ass-end of the truck. honestly, i just dont know.
