My sportage had a small antizreze leak from a metal tube behind and under the alternator.
So like an idiot in a hury I put some stopleak in and now it stoped leaking and is overheating like crazzy.
Thermostat ? if so where is the bugger and how had is ti to change.

Thermostat is right in front of the engine, near the timing belt cover...picture 6 on the pdf document you already have...

....ahh.....I have always been puzzled trying to understand how stopleak can know what it is supposed to block, and what not..??..so it is on my blacklist.

Guess what! :iceslolan
Thermostat was fine.
Problem was when I was messing around I bumped temp sensor wire :banghead: and seeing that it was rusted some of the wires broke adding resistance and making the gauge reed higher than temp really was. :screwy:

Having no problem is better than having a solution...

Guess what!
Wrong again dam thing is really overheating. Thermostat is out now.
What do you think the next step should be?
How do you test water pump or radiator?
I checked oil and no water in it. :1:
Water just keeps spouting out radiator neck when heated up.
Help!! :angryfire

EH wait: before you used the stopleak, wasn't it doing fine? If you did not have any overheating symptoms before the stopleak, then keep it simple. I think the sudden change in behaviour is related to the actions that have been taken...I fear stopleak can block radiator cells as well as unwanted leaks. I do not like additives of any kind, but here and now I'd try a radiator cleaner hoping to remove stopleak from where it should not be...and reverse the situation.
Do you get normal heat from the heater?
If you or anyone else ever goes to change the water pump make sure you get an original from KIA..there have been SEVERAL cases of aftermaket pumps that LOOK like the right one but that are for the SOHC engine..and they do not have exactly the same belt teeth spacing and installing that pump destroys the timing belt in a few days or a week.
