Anybody have any experience on changing spark plugs on an 2000 E150 5.4 Liter engine. Everything looks tight. How difficult is it? Any tips?

Not nearly as bad as it looks, AND they really are good for every one of the 100,000 mile interval Ford suggests.

The most difficult part, and it is not hard, is getting the individual coils off the plugs, for that you will need a 7mm socket and a wrench with a short extension. No need to unplug them, but you certainly can. With the retaining bolt out, simply lift the coil outward past the fuel rail, and upward to expose the plugs.

Oh, you will want to do this with the doghouse off.

#7 is the most difficult, because the the fuel pressure regulator is right over top of it. I just did the plugs in a '98 E350 5.4L and took the fuel rail loose on the LH side to access #7. You may want to have some extra O-rings on hand if you pull the rail - sometimes they roll off the injectors and fall into abyss. The DPFE mounting bracket must come loose as well. Pull the PCV hose off the engine on the RH side - for better visibility if nothing else. This one only had 52K on it, but #3 was coming loose - it would have blown right out of the head, taking the threads with it very soon! We caught it just in time!
