timing belt install now wont startjjmccloud82 01-31-2005, 05:29 PM i installed new timing belt because tensioner went ........now engine wont start sonunds smooth but a little whinding amigo-2k 01-31-2005, 05:31 PM timing is probably off. jjmccloud82 01-31-2005, 05:37 PM any comments on a easy way to do it rodeo02 01-31-2005, 09:33 PM You have to line the cam sprocket timing marks up with the lines on the belt & mark on the crank pulley all at the same time :banghead: . I've heard that using the (large) black spring clip paper binders really help holding the T-belt to the cam sprockets. If you are off 360deg on one of them, you will probably have to find TDC on cylinder one & line everything back up. I dont know the exact details for your specific model, best to get a service manual. G/luck Joel vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
